Chattanooga slips by ASU
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Appalachian State made more shots than Chattanooga did Thursday night. The Mountaineers also had one more rebound, nine more assists and four more 3-point baskets.

East Burke cruises past Watauga
ICARD - Watauga opened with two wins in three matches Tuesday night at East Burke High but quickly faltered down the stretch as East Burke’s Billy Abee led a turnaround effort for the Cavaliers in helping to deal the Pioneers a 51-19 loss.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Former Watauga standout wrestler Travis Coffey, a two-time state champion, won two matches at the Lone Star Duals last Saturday, helping Army split two matches.

ASU takes on North rival
The schedule makers at the Southern Conference did Appalachian State no favors this week. After paying rival Davidson Monday, Appalachian State takes to the road Thursday to play North Division rival Chattanooga, beginning at 7 p.m. The Mountaineers will travel to Samford Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip off.

ASU comes up short

On one side of the Holmes Center court, Appalachian State’s Walter Payton Award winning quarterback, and reigning Southern Conference Most Valuable Player, Armanti Edwards, was watching Appalachian State’s basketball team host Davidson Monday night.

Tickets to stay at same prices

Ticket prices for 2009 Appalachian State home football games will remain the same as in 2008, the ASU athletic department announced Friday.
