Dec. 30
Holly Ann Hansbrough, 26, of 275 Red Bank Road, Banner Elk, was arrested on view on charges of driving while license revoked and a fictitious tag. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 17 in lieu of a $500 bond.
Dec. 31
An incident of suspicious activity was reported at a business on the 9200 block of U.S. 421 North. The reporting person indicated a person had dropped off a film canister under a rock near a trash bin The canister contained a plastic bag with list of unknown information and was covered in a camouflage tape with the four-of-diamonds playing card displayed on it.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 1600 block of Tom Jackson Road in Boone. The victim reported a Schwinn bicycle was stolen from the property.
Jan. 1
Brittany Nicole Reid, 19, of 225 Tater Hill Estates, Apt. 2, Boone, was arrested on view on charges of driving while impaired and driving after consuming alcohol while underage.
Jan. 2
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Battle Cove Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person had kicked in the from door, causing $150 in damage to the door frame.
Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny were reported at a residence on the 2200 block of Old U.S. 421, town unspecified. The victim reported a person entered a vehicle and removed $50 in cash.
Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Blue Bonnet Drive in Boone. The victim reported a person entered the home, stole a video game and damaged a Rusty Wallace NASCAR lamp.
A possible overdose was reported at a residence on the 800 block of Dewitt Barnett Road.
A domestic disturbance was reported on the 4400 block of N.C. 194 in Boone. The incident occurred between a stepfather and stepson.
Ethan Jedidah Morris, 16, of 140 Goshan Creek Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant on two charges of second degree trespassing. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 2.
James Patrick Owens, 35, of 562 Jakes Mountain Road, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of assault on a female and communicating threats. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 4.
Jan. 3
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Old Eastridge Road in Boone. The victim reported several windows and frames were broken on the home, causing $1,000 in damage.
Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at a church on Cool Winds Drive in Boone. The minister reported a person gained entry through the fellowship hall door, causing $250 in damage, and stole a laptop computer and cash.
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Roby Eggers Road in Zionville. The victim reported his/her vehicle was dragged into the roadway, causing damage to the side mirror and the front driver’s door.
A resident of the 1000 block of Green Briar Road in Boone reported an mp3 player and digital camera missing. The total value of the items is estimated to be $300.
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Old U.S. 421, town unspecified. The victim reported his/her vehicle and house had been shot by a paintball gun.
Catalino Cornelio DeJesus, 25, of 88 Gillian Road, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault on a female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 4.
Jan. 4
Henry Gavin Schneider, 25, of 173 Country Club Drive, Blowing Rock, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while impaired. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on March 10 in lieu of a secured $300 bond.
Jan. 5
An incident of communicating threats was reported at a residence on the 900 block of Mountain Dale Road in Vilas. The victim reported receiving threatening phone calls.
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Anderson Avenue in Boone. The victim reported a vehicle drove through the yard, damaging the grass, two trees and a children’s bicycle.
Brian Forest Tolbert, 17, of 226 Henson Hollar Road, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 30 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.
Jan. 6
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 1400 block of Longshope Road in Boone. The victim reported a chunk of concrete was broken at the front entrance of the driveway.
Larceny was reported in the parking lot of the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute. The victim reported prescription medication and two textbooks stolen from an unlocked vehicle.
Jan. 7
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported by a construction business at a town home located on Turtle Creek Lane, town unspecified. A person gained entry through the garage doors and removed four 1,000 foot spools of copper wire, with a total value of $680.
