ASU dumps Western

Appalachian State’s volleyball team pounded more than twice as many kills as Western Carolina and beat the Catamounts, 24-26, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-21 Wednesday at the Holmes Center.

Three Mountaineers earn weekly honors
Appalachian State did some rare things in its 70-24 win over Wofford last Friday at Kidd Brewer stadium. For starers, the Mountaineers played on Friday night. Secondly, they became the first team to blow the Terriers out this season, not the easiest thing to do. Thirdly, they had three players recognized by the Southern Conference as players of the week. ASU picked 2nd, 3rd

CHARLOTTE — Appalachian State’s men’s basketball team was picked to finish second and third in the Southern Conference North Division by the league’s media and coaches, respectively, at the SoCon Basketball Media Tip-off in Charlotte last Thursday.
