sheriff’s reports:


August 18
Damage to property was reported at the Watauga County Skate Park on Complex Drive. A person cut the fence surrounding the park.


Communicating threats was reported by a resident of Quail Ridge Drive in Boone. The victim reported a person threatening bodily harm.


Breaking and entering was reported at a residence on the 700 block of Old Bristol Road in Boone. A person entered the front door of the home without the use of force.

Harassment was reported by a resident of Woodring Circle in Boone. The victim reported a person had placed a tracking device on his or her vehicle. A TrimTrac magnetic device was recovered.


Assault was reported by a resident of Gap Creek Road in Fleetwood. The victim reported being assaulted by several people after an argument.

August 19
A person reported finding a purse along Lonnie Carlton Road in Deep Gap.


Brian Scott Richardson, 31, of 636 Cobbs Creek Road, Boone, was arrested on charges of driving while his license was revoked, fictitious registration plate and operating a vehicle without insurance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Oct. 22 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.


Credit-card fraud was reported by a resident of Wiley Austin Drive in Blowing Rock. The victim reported their credit card number had been used to purchase items online.

A lost cell phone, valued at $150, was reported in the Watauga River and Hound Ears area.


Forgery and an attempt to obtain money by false pretenses were reported by a resident of Jim Burkett Road in Zionville. The victim reported a person forging his or her name in an attempt to obtain money.

Larceny was reported at a parking lot on Dick Watson Road. The victim reported the catalytic converter had been stolen from a truck.

August 20
Damage to property was reported on the 100 block of Eggers Lane in Boone. Mailboxes were reported knocked over.

A safe containing three rolls of pennies, $1.50, was reported found in the New River near the Ashe County line.


John Mortez, 37, of 916 Jones Road, Creston, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and was scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 25 in lieu of a secured $4,000 bond.


Debbie Rominger Isaacs, 50, of 101 Isaacs Drive, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule III controlled substance, simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Oct. 22 in lieu of a secured $3,500 bond.

August 21
Danny James Cecile Jr., 31, of 505 Eagle Drive, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of simple assault. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Michael Thomas Esper, 50, of 195 Leslie Lane, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of assault on a female and two counts of assault on a child under the age of 12. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 3 in lieu of a secured $1,500 bond.

August 22
Danny James Cecile, 59, of 122 Lakewood Road, Wilkesboro, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of simple assault. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Breaking and entering was reported at a storage facility on the 1500 block of U.S. 105 in Boone. A person broke and removed the lock from the perimeter gate.

Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residential construction site on Isaac Home Road. Three nailers, a planer, a sander and a drill were reported stolen.


Damage to property was reported on the 1300 block of Winklers Creek in Boone. The victim reported a person ran over their mailbox with a vehicle.

Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at a construction site on the 3900 block of Big Hill Road in Boone. The victim reported the lock had been broken on a trailer and $1,625 worth of tools were stolen.

August 23
Jennifer Lynne Cambell, 36, of 1926 Fords Creek Road, Mountain City, Tenn., was arrested on charges of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of precursor chemicals, manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for purposes related to a controlled substance. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a secured $50,000 bond.

Bobby Brian Crisp, 39, of 124 Clyde Townsend Road Apt. 13, Boone, was served with a warrant on a charge of sexual battery. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.


Ellis G. Rodriguez, 65, of 367 Trivette Branch Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of larceny and second degree trespassing. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Larceny was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Rich Mountain Road in Zionville. The victim reported clothing stolen from a clothes line.

Assault was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Clyde Townsend Road in Boone. The victim reported having been touched inappropriately.


Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Berton Lane in Boone. The victim reported the side window of a van had been broken.

August 24
Eric Chad Arnold, 27, of 5856 Big Dry Run Road, Butler, Tenn., was arrested on view on charges of possession and/or distribution of precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess precursor chemicals and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a secured $50,000 bond.


James Scott Parsons, 33, of 875 Huggins Road, Mountain City, Tenn., was arrested on charges of possession of precursor chemicals used in the manufacture of methamphetamine, manufacturing methamphetamine, conspiracy to possess precursor chemicals and conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a secured $50,000 bond.

Assault was reported at a residence on the 4000 block of N.C. 105 south. The victim reported having been punched in the face by a person using brass knuckles. No arrests have been made at this time.


Damage to property was reported by a resident of Meadowbrook Lane in Deep Gap. The victim reported a neighbor spraying some kind of chemical on bushes and a tree, killing them.

August 25
Kevin Michael Deiters, 44, of 395 Jenwill Drive, Deep Gap, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court appearance. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 30.

Arnold Martin Sandru, 36, of 800 West King St., Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court appearance in Mitchell County on charges of driving while impaired and a probation violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and was scheduled to appear in district court in Bakersville on August 28 in lieu of a $750 secured bond.


Damage to property was reported on McKinley Hill Road. The landowner reported wire fencing had been cut.

Damage to personal property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Cody Lane in Vilas. The victim reported words had been written on two vehicles parked in the driveway.
