sheriff’s reports:

August 12
Curtis Len Moore, 41, of 337 Junaluska Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest on charges of probation violation, and two counts of failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on August 12 in lieu of a secured $2,250 bond.

Melissa Marie Hampton, 45, of 733 Forest Hill Drive, town unspecified, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of communicating threats. Court and bond information were not specified on the report

Robert Franklin Kennedy II, 19, of 733 Forest Hill Drive, town unspecified, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of communicating threats. Court and bond information were not specified on the report.

Danielle Mariah Kennedy, 17, of 733 Forest Hill Drive, town unspecified, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of communicating threats. Court and bond information were not specified on the report.

Larceny was reported at a business on the 4500 block of N.C. 194 South. A lawn tractor, valued at $1982.21, was reported stolen.

Larceny was reported at a business on the 200 block of Westside Drive in Vilas. The catalytic converter, valued at $150, was cut from a vehicle.


Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Browns Chapel Crest in Boone. The passenger side window of a 2002 Honda SUV was reported broken.


Harassing phone calls were reported at a residence on the 200 block of Valley End Road in Boone. The victim reported multiple phone calls.

August 13
Johnny Wayne Ellison, 40, of 303 Tanner Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest on a grand jury indictment for a charge of felony breaking and entering. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in superior court on Sept. 18 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.


Larceny was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Gable Farm Road in Boone. Several pieces of gold and diamond jewelry, with a total value of $6,600, were reported taken without permission.


Breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and larceny were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Corbet McNeil Road, Boone. A person opened an unlocked vehicle and removed stereo speakers.


Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at an apartment on the 100 block of Pinnacle Woods in Boone. The home was forcibly entered and an iPod with charger and jewelry were reported stolen.

Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 200 block of All Hallow Road in Deep Gap. The home was forcibly entered and a spare door key removed.

August 14
Harassing phone calls were reported by a resident of the 700 block of Rubin Walker Road in Vilas.


Damon Ray Morris, 31, of 521 Dogwood Knoll Apt. 1, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 2 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Elaine Hazel Oliver, 49, of 165 Robin Lane Apt. 310, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest charges of possession with intent to sell and/or deliver marijuana and the sale of marijuana. She is scheduled to appear in district court on August 26 in lieu of an unsecured $5,000 bond.

Harassment and larceny were reported at a resident on the 200 block of Deer Meadows Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person opening the mailbox, removing items and leaving messages.

A domestic assault was reported in a business parking lot on U.S. 321. The assault occurred between sisters.

Bryan Keith Shipman, 23, of 189 Summit Woods Drive Apt. 7, town unspecified, was arrested on view on charge of driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Oct. 6.

Patrick Ryan Saunders, 23, of 261 Mac Hampton Road, Blowing Rock, was arrested on view on charges of driving while impaired, simple possession of marijuana, possession of an open alcohol container in the passenger area of a vehicle and driving left of the center line. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 26 in lieu of a written promise bond.

August 15
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 1000 block of Greystone Drive in Boone. The front door of the home was damaged with a pry tool.

Breaking and entering and domestic criminal trespass were reported at a residence on the 5900 block of U.S. 421 in Vilas. The victim reported an ex-boyfriend climbed through the bedroom window of the home.

Larceny was reported by a business on the 100 block of the Poplar Grove Connector in Boone. A DVD/VCR combination player was reported taken from the business.

Ellis G. Rodriguez, 65, of 307 Trivette Branch Road in Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of injury to trees, crops and land. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 2 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Michael Kelly McKagen, 40, of 320 Bluebird Lane, Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of breaking and entering and domestic criminal trespassing. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center on a 48-hour hold and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29.

August 16
Larceny was reported at a business on the 4400 block of N.C. 105. The victim reported a camera with accessories, with a total value of $301, was stolen.

Jeremy Arlee Scism, 19, address listed as homeless, was served with an order for arrest on charges of probation violation and failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is housed at the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on August 22 in lieu of a secured $2,000 bond.


Larceny and trespassing were reported at a residence on the 300 block of Trivette Branch Road, town unspecified. Galvanized roof tin, valued at $150, was reported stolen.

Christoper Curtis Lilly, 17, of 174 Cornerstone Lane, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of harassing phone calls. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Marty Wilson Baggott, 53, of 467 U.S. 321 North, Vilas, was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of stolen goods and/or property. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Sept. 29 in lieu of a secured $4,000 bond.
