Student tickets for LSU-ASU on sale Monday

Appalachian State students' allotment of tickets for the Aug. 30 football season opener at LSU go on sale Monday at 9 a.m. at the Kidd Brewer Stadium Ticket Plaza.

Watauga’s girls’ tennis team showed that even with new players and a new coach, results against Northwestern 4-A Conference teams can usually end up the same as before.

Pioneers cruise past Kings Mountain
Watauga’s volleyball team got a balanced performance from its hitters and battled to a season opening 3-0 (25-18, 25-15, 25-17) sweep of 3-A power Kings Mountain Tuesday.


ASU voted No. 1

Appalachian State has been voted the top ranked team in the Football Championship Subdivision, according to the Sports Network poll.

LENOIR — The good news from the scrimmages Watauga played in Saturday was thet team looked better than its first scrimmage at Newton-Conover three days earlier.

Mountaineers fall 6-1 to Wake
The Appalachian State women’s soccer team played its lone exhibition match of the 2008 season, losing 6-1 at Wake Forest Sunday.
