Going back in time
Appalachian State’s football team will have a different look, at least for the first game.
In honor of head coach Jerry Moore beginning his 20th season at ASU, the Mountaineers will wear throwback uniforms in the style of the 1989 team, the first Moore coached at ASU, when the Mountaineers host Jacksonville on Sept. 6. Appalachian State wore those style of uniforms when they beat Gardner-Webb 43-7, Moore’s first victory as ASU’s coach. They’ll be worn for just the Jacksonville game and will be auctioned off on goasu.com.
