sheriff’s reports:

July 1
Damage to property was reported on the 100 block of Hill Road in Zionville. A mailbox, valued at $62, was reported damaged.


Harassment was reported on the 12000 block of U.S. 421 north in Trade. The victim reported multiple unwelcome phone calls.


Larceny of jewelry was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Bryant Combs Road in Sugar Grove.


Jonathan Ford Rodda, 25, of 194 One Love Lane, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date on a charge of no trout license. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Larceny of antiques was reported at a residence on the 4300 block of Bamboo Road in Boone.


Trespassing and cockfighting were reported on open land on the 4000 block of Sampson Road in Blowing Rock. The owner reported unknown persons trespassing and cockfighting on their property.

July 2
Harassment and damage to property were reported on the 3900 block of Hardin Road in Boone. The victim reported a person placing nails in the home’s driveway.


Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at a business on the 10000 N.C. 105 south in Banner Elk. A window was broken out of the door and cash reported stolen.

Scott Edward Avant, 41, of 184 Hodges Gap Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 21 in lieu of a cash $770 bond.

Assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious bodily injury was reported at a residence on Crystal Lane in Banner Elk. A dispute between friends led to the victim being cut with a knife.

July 3
Deputies conducted a gun seizure, removing two shotguns from a domestic violence protective order defendant.


Tony William Banner, 53, of 365 Grandfather Road, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault inflicting serious bodily injury. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22 in lieu of a secured $15,000 bond.


Robert Lee Tester, 51, of 7443 N.C. 194 North, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 22 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.

Lance Colby Ross, 20, of 149 PSI Drive Apt. L9, Boone, was served with a warrant of arrest for communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Mike Lee Whitechair, 28, of 294 Shore Drive, Blowing Rock, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court appearance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 29 in lieu of secured $500 bond.

Melanie Dawn Wilson, 22, of 4019 U.S. 421 North, Vilas, was served with an order for arrest to failure to appear at a scheduled court date. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 5 in lieu of an $875 cash bond.


David Brandon Summers, 21, of 1207 Secotan Place, Fuquay Vorina, was served with a criminal summons on a charge of injury to personal property. He is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22.

July 4
Andrew Sappington, 32, of 242 Ski Cast Park Drive, Blowing Rock, was served with an order for arrest on for two charges of failure to pay support. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 21 in lieu of a $3,000 cash bond.


Humberto Pichardo Resendiz, 28, of 428 Bluebird Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 13 in lieu of an unsecured $1,500 bond.

July 5
Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at an apartment on the 100 block of Old U.S. 321 in Blowing Rock. The front door of the home was kicked in and a flat screen television, valued at $900, was reported stolen.

A domestic dispute was reported at a residence on Rainbow Trail in Boone.

Jeffrey Grier Neese, 21, of 130 Pinnacle Woods Drive, town unspecified, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 13 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Christopher David O’Donnell, 32, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 13.

July 6
Wendell Alan Ramsay, 39, of 2588 U.S. 321 South Apt. 8, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district on Aug. 25 in lieu of secured $9,500 bond.

July 7
Jody Moore, 41, of 515 Junaluska Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22 in lieu of secured $300 bond.

A possible incident of fraud was reported at a business on the 1500 on Old U.S. 421 South. A person reported a $165 check was obtained by fraud.

Resisting public officer, disorderly conduct and a noise ordinance violation were reported on the 100 Patton Lane in Boone. A person was said to be cursing at a neighbor from their porch and resisted the officer called to the scene.


Breaking and entering, larceny and damage to property were reported at a residence on the 900 block of Rich Mountain Road in Zionville. The door of the vacation home was pried open and an all terrain vehicle, DVD player and VCR were reported stolen.

Arabell Main Potter, 87, of 172 South Road, Todd, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear on a charge of second degree trespassing. She is scheduled to appear in district court on July 29 in lieu of an unsecured $500 bond.

Michael Alan Stewart, 32, of 128 Patton Lane, Boone, was arrested on view on charges of resisting a public officer and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Aug. 13 in lieu of a secured $750 bond.


Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Hensels Lane in Boone. The victim reported a person threw a scooter at a trailer, causing $50 in damage.
