sheriff’s reports:

June 29
Larceny was reported in a parking lot on the 1600 block of U.S. 221 south in Blowing Rock. The catalytic converter, valued at $300, was removed from a 2006 Toyota pick-up truck.

Larceny was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Troy Norris Road in Boone. The victim reported an air filter, valued at $50, stolen from a vehicle.

An incident of breaking and entering was reported on the 100 block of Troy Norris Road in Boone. The victim reported a person entering the home through an unlocked window.

David Raymond Nelsen, 38, of 201 Fair Oaks Court, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on July 22 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Jerry Wayne Wilson, 39, of 289 Harbin Road, Zionville, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on July 9 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.

June 30
Fraud was reported at a business on the 2700 block of U.S. 421 south. A check amount was altered and then cashed.

Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 7100 block of N.C. 194 north in Boone. The victim reported goats had damaged an apple tree, plum tree, cherry tree, crab apple tree, a rose bush and a rhododendron bush. The total estimated damage was $750.

Recovered property was reported in a parking lot on South Ridge Road. A person reported finding a small safe.

Larceny was reported at a business on the 2400 block of Linville Creek Road in Vilas. Multiple tools were reported stolen from work vehicles with a total estimated value of $3,440.
