The Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation will uncork a wine tasting for their cancer patient emergency fund this Friday in the Inn at Crestwood from 6:30 until 9 p.m.
“The money that is raised ill actually go towards digital mammography,” said Megan Ellis, the director of special events.
“Digital mammography allows the doctors to get a digitized, high resolution picture and to electronically send information between doctors and departments. It is state of the art and lets us become paperless and film less.”
“The money we earn from this event will be designated for this cause and o directly towards purchasing this new equipment for the hospital,” Ellis said.
Peabody’s will provide a wine selection from Napa Valley, Austria, Spain and France. Hors d’oeuvre catered by the Table at Crestwood will be served with each wine. The hors d’oeurves will range from duck, crab cakes, Thai beef salad, smoked salmon and chilled cucumber soup. Entertainment will be provided by the Scott Smith Band.
Tickets are available for purchasing and will be available at the door. The ticket costs are $75 dollars per person, $25 of that can be tax deductible.
“The Appalachian Regional Healthcare Foundation’s work supports the vision ‘to build a regional healthcare system which results in healthier individuals and enhanced quality of life,’” Ellis said.
