Driving While Impaired District Court
District Court Judge Thomas G. Foster Jr. presiding and Gail Fannon prosecuting on behalf of the state.

May 19
Patrick Norman Hill, 33, of 911 Harbowview Road, Charleston, S.C., was found guilty of driving while impaired and exceeding safe speed. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, three years unsupervised probation, and 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days. He was assessed a total of $515 in fines and court costs. A charge of driving while license revoked was reduced to a charge of no operator’s license. Separate court costs and fines of $200 were assessed on this charge.

Dalton McBee, 22, of 136 Beaver Bend, Canton, Miss., was found guilty of driving while impaired and failure to wear a seat belt. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, three years unsupervised probation, and 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days. He was assessed a total of $520 in fines and court costs.

Charges of driving while impaired, driving after consuming while underage and speeding were dismissed against Taylor Arizona Willis, 21, of 570 Dogwood Lane, Blowing Rock. The charges were dismissed on the basis of lack of reasonable suspicion for the traffic stop.

Brett Joseph Young, 23, of 917 43rd Ave Court, NE, Hickory, was found guilty of driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, three years unsupervised probation, and 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days. He was assessed $505 in fines and court costs.

May 20
Brian Christopher Davis, 21, of 458 Yosef Drive Apt. B, Boone, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, three years unsupervised probation and 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days. He was assessed $505 in fines and court costs.

May 21
Sean Edward Gray, 21, of 465 Gray Shadow Lane, Banner Elk, was found guilty of driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, and three years unsupervised probation. He was assessed $120 in court costs to be paid before June 23. A charge of no operator’s license was dismissed.


David Ishmael Eli Davis, age unlisted, of 562 Sugar Lake Road, Pittsboro, appeared in court on charges of habitual driving while impaired, driving while license revoked, failure to stop for a stopped bus, and felony serious injury by vehicle. Bond was adjusted from $15,000 to $100,000.

May 22
A charge of driving while impaired was dismissed against Sarah Rose Shute, 23, of 3717 Thrull Road, Knoxville, Tenn.

Brittany Ann Zahn, 23, of 11120 Knight Castle Drive, Charlotte, was found guilty of driving while impaired. She was sentenced to 60 days in jail, suspended, three years unsupervised probation, and 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days. She was assessed $515 in fines and court costs, which must be paid by June 23.

May 20
A charge of disorderly conduct was dismissed against Katelyn Joyce Brown, 18, of 11861 N.C. 221 South, Fleetwood.

William Ted Griffin, 46, address listed as homeless, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor larceny and tampering with a vehicle. He was sentenced to a total of 180 days in jail with 37 days credit.

Sanchez Mar Lastowska, 29, of 280 Bodenheimer Drive Apt. A, Boone, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 30 days, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation and 24 hours of community service should be completed within 30 days. He was assessed $100 fine in court costs.


Ariel Lipscomb, 21, of 219 Green St. Apt 8, Boone, pleaded guilty to shoplifting and concealment of goods. She was sentenced to 20 days, suspended, and 12 months unsupervised probation. She was assessed $250 in court costs.

Riley Aloysi McGinley, 23, of 539 Hodges Gap Road, Boone, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. McGinley was sentenced to 60 days in jail with 36 days credit and 12 months unsupervised probation. McGinley was assessed $100 in court costs.


An order for arrest was issued against Arabell Main Potter, age unlisted, of 172 South Road, Todd, for failure to appear in court for second degree trespassing.


An order for arrest was issued against Dennis Allen Presnell, 21, of 160 Creekside Lane, Zionville, for failure to appear in court for injury to personal property, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana. A $3,000 secured bond was set.


Jeffery William Pugh, 37, of 242 Headtown Road, Jonesborough, Tenn., pleaded guilty for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was charged with 45 days, suspended, and 12 months unsupervised probation. He was assessed $100 in court costs.


Gordon Burch Watson, 48, address listed as streets of Boone, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor larceny. He was sentenced to 120 days in jail with 16 days credit.

May 27
Jamelle Rafi Assad, 52, of 115 Green Heights Drive, Boone, was found guilty of five counts of failure to file or pay sales tax. He was sentenced to 45 days, suspended, 36 months supervised probation, and restitution must be made during probationary period. He was assessed $3,626.76 in court costs and restitutions.


A charge of injury to personal property was dismissed against Daniel Paul Caylor, 31, of 159 Gragg St., Boone.

An order for arrest was issued for Randy Jack Davis, 36, of 943 Sprucey Lane, Mountain City, Tenn., for failure to appear in court on a charge of manufacturing methamphetamine.


A charge of injury to personal property was dismissed against Roy Lewis Harold, age unlisted, of 107 Hubert Norris Road, Boone, due to successful mediation.


A charge of assault and battery was dismissed against Travis William Miller, 21, of 1456-2 Meat Camp Road, Boone.

Matthew Charles Minton, 18, of 299 East Flat Church Road, Lenoir, appeared in court on a charge of felony larceny and bond was reduced to $2,000 secured.

Dennis Lee Roberts, 20, of 218 Whitener Drive, Boone, pleaded guilty to manufacturing marijuana, simple possession of scheduled VI controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was sentenced to 36 months supervised probation and assessed $315 in court-appointed attorney and court costs.

An order for arrest was issued for Ashley A. Steward, 21, of 128 Torrence Circle, Lenoir, for failure to appear in court on a charge of conspiring to deliver cocaine. A $15,000 secured bond was set.


Ambriel Michele Stout, 22, of 151 Summit Woods Drive Apt. B4, Boone, pleaded guilty to possession of scheduled II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was sentenced to 36 months of supervised probation and assessed a total of $675 State Bureau of Investigation lab costs, court-appointed attorney, and court costs.


Matthew Eugene South, 16, of 356 Betty’s Circle, Deep Gap, pleaded guilty to injury to personal property. He was sentenced to 35 days in jail, suspended, and 24 months supervised probation.
