An employee of the D & B Mini Mart in Zionville was held at knifepoint during a Tuesday night armed robbery.
The female employee was locking the doors at approximately 10:30 p.m. when she was approached by two males. The men were wearing a black ski mask and a camouflage mask.
According to Capt. Dee Dee Rominger of the Watauga County Sheriff's Office, the man wearing a black ski mask held the woman at knifepoint, and the pair forced her back into the business.
The men then stole a carton of cigarettes and $6,000 in cash.

This is the second incident of theft at the D & B Mini Mart in 2008. On March 5, the owner reported a breaking and entering and felony larceny. An unknown person broke the front glass of the business and stole $4,976 in cash.
The report said the money, $3,000 in a money bag and $1,976 extra cash, was in a “secret location.”
Both incidents remain under investigation by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone with information regarding the thefts is urged to call (828) 264-3612.
