Watauga’s pair of aces

There are some similarities with Watauga’s top pitching duo of Tyler Moore and Jon Sharpe. They’re both right-handers and they’ve both been instrumental in leading the Pioneers to an 18-10 record and the third round of the state 4-A baseball playoffs.

Taylor Cook captures state pole vault title
GREENSBORO — Taylor Cook made sure Watauga’s stranglehold on girls’ pole vaulting was as strong as ever.

Eagles fly past WHS
KERNERSVILLE — Watauga had lost to East Forsyth by just one goal earlier in the season. Yet Watauga coach Doug Kidd felt his team played an even better game in their 5-1 loss Friday night to the Eagles in the second round of the state 4-A playoffs.

It’s mathmatically impossible for Appalachian State to win the Southern Conference baseball championship. However, the Mountaineers made winning the SoCon much more difficult for Furman by sweeping the Paladins over the weekend.
