Watauga sheriff’s reports:

April 18
Larceny was reported at a business on the 100 block of Broadstone Road in Banner Elk. Two wooden mushroom statues were reported stolen from in front of the business.

Communicating threats and breaking and entering were reported at a residence on the 2100 block of Winklers Creek Road in Boone. The victim reported a person pulling on the door and threatening to shoot them.


Matthew Eugene South, 16, of 134 Millers Drive, Boone, was served with a warrant for injury to personal property. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 20 in lieu of a $1,500 secured bond.

Damage to property was reported on the 100 block of Tenessias Way. The victim reported a person attempted to hot wire a vehicle, damaging the steering column.


Injury to personal property and communicating threats was reported at a residence on the 4400 block of U.S. 421 North. The victim reported a person damaging the storm door on the home.

April 19
Larceny was reported on the 300 block of Leisure Lane. The victim reported $800 in loose coin and two small clay jars were stolen.


Thomas Alan Edwards, 46, of 302 West King St., Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest for simple assault. He is scheduled to appear in district court on May 8 in lieu of a $750 unsecured bond.

Roberto Munoz Aguirre, 45, of 509 Corliss St., Greensboro, was served with a warrant for identity theft. The warrant was faxed from Alamance County. He is scheduled to appear in district court on April 28 in lieu of a $2,000 secured bond.


Shelia Watson Storie, 50, of 6973 Old U.S. 421 South, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest for second degree trespassing and simple assault. She is scheduled to appear in district court on May 20 in lieu of a $500 unsecured bond.

Robert Michael Henson, 33, of 5015 N.C. 421 North Apt. 3, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest for assault on a female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 20. No bond was set.

April 20
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Old Slabtown Road in Zionville. The victim reported a person drove a truck on an embankment, damaging it.


Robert Lee Roark, 50, of 876 Modock Road, Trade, Tenn., was arrested on view on a charge of driving while impaired. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on June 6 in lieu of a $500 secured bond.

April 21
Lisa Marie Hampton, 44, 111 Paul Critcher Drive, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of second degree trespassing. She is scheduled to appear is district court on May 20 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Larceny was reported at a church on the 8000 block of Old U.S. 421 in Zionville. The church reported a person had removed three granite head stones from the cemetery.


Damage to property was reported at Mabel Elementary School. The school reported a maple tree had been damaged and several items moved around the playground.


Larceny was reported on the 100 block of Complex Drive in Boone. The victim reported a cell phone had been stolen.

April 22
Davidson Prescott Shuford, 26, of 196 Oak St., Boone, was arrested on view on a charge of driving while license revoked. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 6 in lieu of a $500 unsecured bond.

Kenneth Eugene Frost, 43, of 111 Paul Critcher Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest on charges of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell and/or deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for purposes related to a controlled substance, possession of marijuana up to one half ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 29 in lieu of a $6,000 secured bond.

Eric John Topper, 39, of 6383 U.S. 221 South Apt. 6, town unspecified, was arrested on view for driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on June 6 in lieu of a written promise bond.
