Link named Watauga athletic director

The Watauga County Board of Education made it official Monday night by hiring Jeff Link as the county’s new athletics director.

ASU takes on ETSU
No doubt, it’s been a frustrating Southern Conference season for Appalachian State. However, winning two out of three from Georgia Southern gave the Mountaineers a lift going into their game Wednesday at East Tennessee State.

STATESBORO, Ga. — Solid pitching and clutch hitting powered Appalachian State to its first Southern Conference series win of the season with a 5-3 victory Sunday at Georgia Southern.

Watauga’s girls’ soccer team rolled to another shutout victory Friday night, beating the Freedom Patriots 3-0.
