Watauga’s boys’ tennis team continued to cut its way through the Northwestern 4-A Conference by chalking up two league victories.

The Pioneers dumped Alexander Central 9-0 Monday night and followed with a 9-0 win over Freedom.

The Pioneers (7-2, 7-0 NWC) got straight-set victories over Freedom from Graham Battle, Steve Lake, Brian Geldmeier, Beau Wilson and Preston Stigall. Jeffery Geldmeier had to play an extra set, but beat Jacob Turner 4-6, 6-4 (10-7) in No. 5 singles.

Battle cruised past John Eskridge 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles, and Lake beat Kevin Boggs 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3, Brian Geldmeier beat Wong Her 6-2, 6-1, while Wilson beat Omar Mohaddin 6-1, 6-1.

Preston Stigall beat Jake Walden 6-3, 6-4.

The Pioneers had an easier time with Alexander Central. Wilson, Jeff Geldmeier and Stigall all won by 6-0, 6-0 scores. Brian Geldmeier beat Justin Chapman 6-2, 6-0, while Lake beat Men Yang 6-1, 6-1. Battle won his match over Patrick Wike 6-1, 6-2.

All three of Watauga’s doubles teams won by 8-0 scores.
