Police seize marijuana
plants and psilocybin
mushrooms

A tip led to the seizure of marijuana plants and psilocybin mushrooms, which are halucengenic, at a residence on Wood Circle in Boone on Tuesday.
Officers with the Boone Police Department Narcotics Unit received a tip concerning drug paraphernalia in plain view at a residence. The officers obtained and executed a search warrant at the home.
The search resulted in the arrest of the two residents and one other on drug charges.

Daniel Steven Desmarais, 24, of 307 Wood Circle, Boone, was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver psilocybin mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Justin Heyes Livesly, 22, of 307 Wood Circle, Boone, was charged with manufacturing marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Brandon Jeffrey Tice, 24, of Newland Residence Hall on the campus of Appalachian State University, was charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver marijuana.
All three are scheduled to appear in district court on May 20 in lieu of $5,000 bond each.

The exact drug quantities and number of marijuana plants seized have not been released.
Capt. William Greene said the investigation is continuing and additional arrests may be forthcoming.
