ASU falls to Furman

GREENVILLE, S.C.- The Appalachian State men’s tennis team was unable to carry its three-match win streak into Wednesday's match against SoCon power-house Furman.

This was the fourth nationally ranked team the Mountaineers (9-7, 2-3) have played this season, as the Paladins (9-10, 5-0) currently are ranked 73rd in the nation.

Appalachian State’s duo of Bobby Lake and Trent Contance posted a solid effort against the No. 58 nationlly ranked duo of Andy Juc and Chris Motes, but fell in a close one, losing 8-5 at the No. 1 spot.

The duo of Peter Jacobs and Lee Floyd were not able to defeat a tough Furman duo at the No. 2 spot, falling 8-4.
