Season ticket sales brisk
A record number of fans ordered 2008 Appalachian State football season tickets on Tuesday, the first day season-ticket orders could be placed with the ASU athletics ticket office, according to the school’s Web site.

Due to the first-day rush, the exact number of season-ticket orders is not known at this time, according to the Web site goasu.com.

All six regular-season home games sold out at Kidd Brewer Stadium last season. An additional 4,000 seats on the east side are being added to the stadium, which seated 16,650 last year.

Seat locations will not be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, but rather on the Yosef Club donation structure and priority points system. Those who renew their season tickets by the May 16 deadline will have the opportunity to return to their same seats in 2008.

Swim coaching available
The Lenoir Aquatic & Fitness Center will offer Masters Swim coaching for members Tuesdays and Fridays from 7-7:30 a.m. and Tuesday and Thursdays from noon until 1 p.m. For more information, call 828-757-2196.
