So, let me see if I’ve got this straight: Opening Day for Major League Baseball is March 31, at least according to the league’s Web site.

ICARD — Watauga’s softball team struggled offensively and fell 4-1 Thursday to host East Burke.

Moyer delivers game-winning hit
KINSTON — Watauga got a game-winning single from Ethan Moyer to beat D.H. Conley 4-3 in the Pioneers’ first game of the Geoge Whitfield Invitational Tournament Saturday night. The game was the final one of the evening.

Watauga belts East Burke 4-1
ICARD — East Burke scored the first goal of its game with Watauga last Thursday. It only seemed to make the Pioneers mad.
