March 5
Simple physical assault and communicating threats were reported at a residence on the 900 block of Jordan V. Cook Road in Boone. The victim reported having been slapped.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 200 block of Martin Lane in Boone. A person entered the residence through the back door and removed electronic equipment, a horse saddle and various children’s toys. Two vehicles were also reported stolen from the home.
Dale Patrick Yeoman, 18, of 130 Birch St. Apt. 33, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date on charges of driving while license revoked and a seat belt violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 2 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Breaking and entering and felony larceny were reported at a business on U.S. 421 North in Zionville. A person broke the glass out of the front door, gaining entry and took $4,976 in cash.
March 6
Dillon Lee Isaacs, 19, of 252 Old Slabtown Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of harassing phone calls. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 19 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Eric Allen Hanyon, 29, of 326 Brown Farm Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear in Yadkin County district court on charges of driving while license revoked and improper muffler. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court in Yadkinville on March 18 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Austin Calloway Barwick, 27, of 1042 Rhymer Branch, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of harassing phone calls. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of a $300 secured bond.
Anna Lou Shook, 60, of 10236 N.C. 105 South, Banner Elk, was served with an order for arrest for an indictment on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was placed in the Watauga County District Court and is scheduled to appear in district court on March 27 in lieu of secured $12,500 bond.
March 7
Telesforo Tapia Cervantes, 45, of 298 Tuckers Trail, Vilas, was arrested on view on charges of driving while license revoked and a registration violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of a $500 bond.
Shaun Patrick Cawley, 30, of 503 Rocky Creek Road Apt. 1, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of assault on a child under 12, child abuse and assault on a female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of a $2,000 secured bond.
John Steven Sargeant, 50, of 141 Margot Trail, Boone, was served with a criminal summons for a school attendance violation for a minor child. He is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Bluebird Lane in Boone. The victim reported prescription pain medication stolen.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 600 block of Slabtown Road in Zionville. An oil monitor heater and a propane wall mount heater were reported stolen, with a total value of $1,000.
Larceny was reported at an apartment on the 1000 block of Linville Creek. The victim reported $2,000 in cash stolen from a safe.
Breaking and entering, larceny, and damage to property were reported at a residence on the 2700 block of Rick Mountain Road in Zionville. A chair cushion was reported stolen. An alarm box, door frame and flooring were reported damaged.
March 8
George Torrance Yocum III, 28, of 130 David McLean Drive, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 24 in lieu of a written promise bond.
March 9
Bruce Scott Cornes, 38, of 431 Joe Farthing Road, Sugar Grove, was served with a warrant for arrest on three charges of failure to pay taxes. During service of that warrant, Cornes was also charged with possession of marijuana one half or less and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of an unsecured $3,500 bond.
Damage to property was reported on the 200 block of Old Slabtown Road, Zionville. A person intentionally ran over two “Slow, children at play” signs.
March 10
Patrick Andrew Smith, 45, of 147 Ward Green Road,Vilas, was arrested on view on charges of driving while license revoked, careless and reckless driving, and fictitious registration. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on May 8 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.
Bryon Keith Waters, 39, of 668 Mabel School Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of defrauding drug test. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 28 in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Eddy Ray Southerland, 52, of the Water Wheel Campground, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of communicating threats and a domestic violence order violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on April 16.
Damage to property and a domestic violence protective order violation were reported on the 100 block of the Ricky’s Way in Boone. The victim reported an unknown person damaged a John Deere riding lawn mower, the front fender of a vehicle, and took a boat.
