District court Judge Kyle D. Austin presiding and Charlene Norris prosecuting on behalf of the state.

Jesus Felipe Alonzo, 26, of 34 Rabbit Ranch Road, Newland, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired and no operator’s license. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days, and assessed court costs and $125 in fines. A charge of driving the wrong way on a dual lane highway was dismissed.

An order for arrest was issued for Delfino Arellen Avellaneda, 25, of 107 Big Sky Lane, Banner Elk, for failure to appear on a charge of providing fictitious information to an officer. A $4,000 secured bond was set.

A charge of possession of drug paraphernalia was dismissed against Victor Kenneth Barco, 19, of 1800 Camden Forest Drive, Winston Salem, due to compliance with conditions previously set by the courts.

An order for arrest was issued for David Jansen Byerly, 42, of 1645 Buntontown Road, Butler, Tenn., for failure to appear on charges of driving while license revoked and reckless driving to endanger.

An order for arrest was issued for Timmy Moral Carter Jr., 25, of 364-B Faculty St., Boone, for failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

An order for arrest was issued for Timothy J. Carter, age unlisted, of 364-B Faculty St., Boone, for failure to appear on a charge of injury to personal property.

Joseph Dee Church, 25, of 610 Poplar Springs Road, Roaring River, pleaded guilty to speeding, 80 mph in a 55 mph zone. He was assessed a $25 fine and court costs. A charge of operating a vehicle without insurance was dismissed.

Douglas William Connelly, 20, of 324 Ridgeland Drive, High Point, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days, and assessed court costs, $100 fine, and community service fees. Charges of driving after consuming alcohol while underage, speeding and driving left of the center line were dismissed.


Stephan J. Crabtree, 24, of 2644 Patton Road, Franklin, pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation, 24 hours of community service to be completed within 30 days, and assessed a $100 fine, court costs and community service costs. Charges of speeding and possession of an open alcohol container in the passenger area were dismissed.

An order for arrest was issued for Larry Lynn Crawford, 45, of 163 Rockledge Knoll, Blowing Rock, for failure to appear on two charges of failure to work after having been paid. A secured $2,000 bond was set.
Mark Bernard Dandrea, 19, of 607 Coltrane Hall, Boone, pleaded guilty to possession of an alcoholic beverage by an underage person. He was assessed a $50 fine and court costs.

Fernando E. Delangel, 21, of 436 Charlie Thompson Road, Vilas, pleaded guilty to driving without an operator’s license. A prayer for judgment continued was granted.


David Ray Ferrell, 30, of 1315 Winklers Creek, Boone, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without insurance and a registration violation. Sentencing was consolidated into 120 days in jail, suspended, 24 months unsupervised probation and assessed a $120 fine and court costs.

A charge of driving while license revoked was dismissed against Domingo Ruiz Gallegos, 33, of 9640 U.S. 421 North, Zionville.


Jacob Benjamin Greene, 19, of 807 Hillcrest Circle, Boone, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, 24 months unsupervised probation, and assessed a $100 fine and court costs.


Linore Hamlette Jr., 20, of 4695 Stagecoach Road, Catawba, pleaded guilty to operating a vehicle without insurance. Hamlette was assessed a $25 fine and court costs.

A charge of driving while license revoked was dismissed against Jada Rene Hicks, 21, of 1533 Old Watauga River Road, Sugar Grove.

An order for arrest was issued for Walter Hollingsworth, 20, of 270 Wiggins Road, Louisburg, for failure to appear on a charge of possession of an alcoholic beverage while underage.

A charge of driving without an operator’s license was dismissed against Valerie Elizabeth Hopkins, 26, of 437 Oak Grove Circle, Jefferson.

An order for arrest was issued for Tracy Michell Johnson, 43, of 2532 Goshen Valley Road, Church Hill, Tenn., for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license revoked.

Hannah Joy Kovach, 21, of 12807 Atikins Circle Apt. 102, Charlotte, pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked. A prayer for judgment continued was granted.

An order for arrest was issued for Christopher Lanquist, 18, of 72 Gatewood Drive, Mavietta, Ga., for failure to appear on a charge of using a stolen, fictitious or borrowed ski pass.


Andrew J. Macchiavello, 25, of 129 Lazy Lake Lane Apt. 5, Boone, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana up to one half ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing was consolidated to 30 days in jail, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation and a $100 fine and court costs.

Jamie Martinez, 21, of 264 Twin Pines Lane, Pineola, pleaded guilty to driving without an operator’s license and speeding, 95 mph in a 50 mph zone, and reckless driving to endanger. Sentencing was consolidated to a $100 fine and court costs.


An order for arrest was issued for Luis Meneses, 21, of 903 Willard Road, Greensboro, for failure to appear on a charge of driving while license revoked.

An order for arrest was issued for Alisha Suzanne Potter, 33, of P.O. Box 83, Vilas, for failure to appear on charges of driving while license revoked and driving without liability insurance. A $1,000 secure bond was set.

A charge of operating a vehicle without insurance was dismissed against Stormie Nicole Sebastian, 24, of Big Dry Run Road, Mountain City, Tenn.

A charge of possession of alcohol by an underage person was dismissed against Ashley B. Shapiro, 18, of 305 Belk Dorm, Boone, due to compliance with conditions previously set by the court.


Michael E. South, age unlisted, of 179 Hobert South Road, Zionville, pleaded guilty to second degree trespassing. A prayer for judgment continued was granted.

A charge of possession of alcohol by an underage person was dismissed against Jeffrey M. Spaulding, 18, of 2301 Cherry Laurel Lane, Chapel Hill, due to compliance with conditions previously set by the court.

A charge of operating a vehicle without insurance was dismissed against Jordan Michael Steward, 17, of 138-A Quail Ridge Lane, Boone.

Michael Alan Stewart, 31, of 302 W. King St., Boone, pleaded guilty to second degree trespassing and resisting public officer. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail, with credit for 45 days served.

Johnny Allen Sturgill, 30, of 1941 Spencer Branch, Lansing, pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana up to one half ounce and possession of drug paraphernalia. A prayer for judgment continued was granted on both charges.


Ian Christopher Butera, 22, of 1262 Millerwood Drive, Winston Salem, pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked. A prayer for judgment continued was granted and he was assessed court costs.
