A routine traffic stop led to the arrest of Tennessee fugitive, who had been living in Todd.
Michael Wade Norris, 31, of 2251 Longhope Road, was a passenger in the vehicle. He initially gave officers a false name and date of birth.
When the information given did not match up, officers questioned Norris again and determined his true identity.
He was then placed under arrest as a fugitive from justice on a charge of felony larceny out of Tennessee.
An additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia by officers of the Watauga County Sheriff's Office arose from the traffic stop and arrest.
A Watauga County Magistrate set Norris' bond at $26,500. He is scheduled to appear Watauga County district court on April 1.
Norris remains in the Watauga County Detention Center awaiting extradition.
The driver of the vehicle was not charged in the incident.
