arrested on

drug charges

A report of a suspicious person in Junaluska Park lead to the arrest of a Zionville man on multiple drug charges.

Officers of the Boone Police Department responded to the park at 3 p.m. A search of a vehicle belonging to Eric Duane Danner, 21, led to charges of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacturing cocaine.

The manufacturing cocaine charge is related to Danner's alleged possession of baking soda and a glass tube used to convert powdered cocaine to crack cocaine.

Danner is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of a $15,000 bond. He is no longer in custody.
