An argument between roommates has left a man in critical condition and a woman behind bars.
Officers with the Boone Police Department Investigations Division responded to a call just before 5 a.m. on Saturday at a Howard Street apartment and found Richard Neil Crisp, 19, with stab wounds to his front torso.

Crisp was airlifted to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he remains in critical condition as of Monday morning.
Crisp’s roommate, Devon Marie Sabato, 17, of 746 Howard Street Apt. B14, Boone, has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She is scheduled to appear in district court on April 22 in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.
The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation assisted in the investigation. Police have not released any possible motive for the stabbing nor what kind of weapon was used but did say alcohol was involved.
