Jan. 23
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 200 block of Devils Den Road in Banner Elk. A person shot a hole in the wall of the home and broke the back door, causing a total of $480 in damage.

Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Jimmy Billings Road in Vilas. A person drove a truck into the porch, causing $35 in damage to the porch and $2,000 to the truck.


Damage to property was reported at a business on the 5600 block of Bamboo Road in Boone. Rocks were thrown through the window, causing $400 in damage.


Kaj Andrew Lundsgaard, 20, of 915 University Highlands, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Kimberly Troxler Black, 44, of 163 Rockledge Knoll Road, Blowing Rock, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. She is is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 26 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Spencer Andrew Johnson, 22, of 314 Meadowview Drive Apt. 610, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault inflicting injury. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Mar. 6 in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.

Jan. 24
Wendy Michelle Scharns, 30, of 656 Rocky Creek Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of simple possession of a scheduled IV controlled substance, possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, possession of marijuana greater than one half ounce, and possession of marijuana less than one half ounce. Scharns is scheduled to appear in district court on Mar. 6 in lieu of an unsecured $5,000 bond.


Chad George Johnson, 26, of 535 Old Hampton Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of possession of marijuana less than one-half ounce. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 in lieu of a written promise bond.


Ray Collins III, 34, of 416 Brookshire Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana less than one-half ounce. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Kaitlin Mary McCoy, 23, of 416 Brookshire Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of possession of paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Mar. 6 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Jill Marie Dellich, 24, of 416 Brooshire Road, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. She is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Brandy McQueen Sappington, 33, of 242 Ski Crest Park Drive, Blowing Rock, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date to face charges of driving without insurance and a child restraint violation. She is scheduled to appear in district court on March 28 in lieu of a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Larceny was reported on the 1200 block of Wildcat Road in Deep Gap. A person entered the home without the use of force and removed a monitor heater, a stacked washer and dryer set, a shop vacuum and multiple tools, a total estimated value of $3,440.

Jan. 25
Breaking and entering and damage to property were reported at a storage building on the 200 block of Bamboo Road. The door was pried open and damaged in the process.

Larceny was reported at a business on the 200 block of Ray Brown Road in Boone. A person cut and removed 300 feet of welder cable.

Dustin Patrick Rubin, 21, of 610 Bavarian Village, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest for two counts of misdemeanor aiding and abetting. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 in lieu of a $1,000 unsecured bond.

Jonathan Scott Shane, 37, of 2588 Blowing Rock Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 27 in lieu of a $2,000 unsecured bond.


Larry Lynn Crawford, 45, of 163 Rockledge Knoll, Blowing Rock, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date to face charges of larceny and failure to work after paid. He is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 and 11 in lieu of written promise bonds.


Aide Martinez, 24, of 168 Dovick Drive, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a written promise bond.

Jan. 26
Charles Clinton Swaringen III, 23, of 5 Helmwood Court, Greensboro, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of failure to report an accident. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Mar. 6 in lieu of a $1,000 bond.

Assault was reported at a parking lot off Crocker Road in Blowing Rock. Two males assaulted a bystander.

Jan. 27
Breaking and entering, larceny, and damage to property were reported at a residence on the 300 block of Monarch Lane in Boone. Entry was forced through the front door of the residence and a bottle of prescription medication stolen.

Fraudulent use of a credit card number was reported by a resident of Sorrento Drive in Blowing Rock. A person obtained the victim’s credit card number and made purchases.


Stephen Douglas Finger, 50, of 236 Holloway Mountain Road, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date to face charges of speeding and driving without a license. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, driving while license revoked, and operating a vehicle without insurance. Finger was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on March 6 in lieu of a $1,5000 bond.

Paige Elizabeth Daganhardt, 19, of 231 Shelby St. Apt. 2, Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of misdemeanor stalking. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center on a 48-hour hold. Daganhardt is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21.

Jan. 28
Harassing phone calls and communicating threats were reported by an employee of a business on Waterstone Drive in Boone. A person called the victim numerous times, threatening them.

Misty Annette Arnold, 33, 4348 Rominger Road, Banner Elk, was arrested on-view on charges of driving while license revoked and a registration violation. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a $500 secured bond.

Kelly Jean McCormick, 19, of 101 Shilo Lane, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21. No bond was set.


Willie James King, 21, of 194 Clawson Street, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of felony breaking and entering, felony obtaining property by false pretense, and felony larceny. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on March 12 in lieu of a $3,500 secured bond.
