Tennessee man
charged with robbery

A Tennessee man remains in custody on a robbery charge following an incident Tuesday morning.
Terry Scott Livingston, 27, of Elizabethton, is alleged to have entered the Kangaroo Express convenience store on Blowing Rock Road in Boone just after midnight.

Livingston is reported to have asked the clerk for change. Once the clerk the opened the cash drawer, police say Livington reached over the counter and took the drawer from the register.
A witness saw a man flee the business and jump into a small blue pickup truck. The truck sped away, but was stopped a short time later by an Appalachian University police officer.
Livingston was arrested and charged wtih felony common law robbery, failure to stop for blue lights and siren, and operating a vehicle without a driver's license.
A passenger in the truck fled after the vehicle was stopped.
Officers with the Boone Police Department, Watauga County Sheriff's Office and ASU police searched the area, but were unable to locate the individual. Further investigation is under way by the Boone PD Investigations Division.
Livingston is scheduled to appear in district court on March 18 in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
