Jan. 10
Impersonation of a law enforcement officer was reported at a business on the 300 block of Critcher Road in Boone. A person called the business claiming to be a Watauga sheriff’s deputy.
Larceny, forgery and uttering were reported by a resident of the 400 block of Don Hayes Road in Boone. The victim reported a check was stolen and cashed.
A domestic dispute between husband and wife was reported at a residence on the 2600 block of Rominger Road in Banner Elk.
Credit fraud was reported at a business on the 400 block of Roby Greene Road in Boone. The office manager reported a person using a credit card, in the amount of $5,000, without authorization.
Archie Dale Johnson Jr., 40, of 1988 Ruritan Road, Roaring River, was served with a warrant for arrest on two charges each of breaking and entering of a coin operated machine and felony larceny stemming from incidents in Surry County. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in Surry County district court on Feb. 6 in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
Jan. 11
Property was reported found by a maintenance worker. The individual reported a wallet found in the landfill and turned the wallet over to the sheriff’s office.
Larceny of checks, forgery and uttering were reported by a resident of George Wilson Road in Boone. The victim reported two booklets of checks were stolen and an undisclosed number written.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 4500 block of Peoria Road in Sugar Grove. A person removed several tools from the victim’s garage, with a total value of $5,980.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Dovick Drive in Banner Elk. A person forcibly entered the residence and removed a computer, modem and two keyboards, with a total value of $635.
Moises Rodrguez Lopez, 30, of 150 Howard Winkler Road, Boone, was arrested on charges of driving while license revoked and fictitious registration. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 7 in lieu of a secured $500 bond.
Jan. 12
Damage to property was reported on the 4300 block of Elk Creek Road in Deep Gap. The victim reported a known person damaged the front door of the residence and threatened them.
Assault on a female and assault by strangulation was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Parkway Forest Drive in Blowing Rock.
Breaking and entering and larceny was reported at a business on the 1700 block of N.C. 194 North. A person broke the window of the business and took unspecified items.
Communication of threats was reported by a resident of the 600 block of Wintergreen Drive. The victim reported threatening text messages.
Cody Ryan Oakes, 19, of 266 Clay Hodges Road, Boone, was arrested on charges of simple possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 7 under the terms of a custody release.
Jennifer Catherine Morton, 23, of 175 Apple Road in Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court in lieu of a $750 secured bond.
Jan. 13
Assault on a female was reported on the 100 block of Flick Drive in Boone. The victim reported having been struck with a closed fist.
Jimmy Allen Flick, 47, of 140 Flick Drive, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault on a female. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Christopher Montgomery Shaw, 22, of 130 Sims Terrace, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on two charges of simple possession of a schedule IV controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 22 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Matthew Ryan Cook, 23, of 6181 U.S. 421 North, Vilas, was served with an order for arrest for a probation violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 31 in lieu of a $15,000 secured bond.
Jan. 14
Justin Dale Lee, 23, of 368 Lakeview Drive Apt. 2, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest for two charges of exceeding the psuedoephedrine possession limit and 14 charges of possession of precursor chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a secured $50,000 bond.
Susan Miranda Hawley, 26, of 368 Lakeview Drive Apt. 2, Deep Gap, was served with a warrant for arrest for one charge of exceeding the psuedoephedrine possession limit and five charges of possession of precursor chemicals used in the manufacturing of methamphetamine. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a secured $35,000 bond.
Breaking and entering and larceny was reported at a business on the 3000 block of Blowing Rock Road in Blowing Rock. A person broke a window, entered the business and removed an undisclosed quanity of cash.
A cell phone was reported lost by a resident of Silverstone Road in Zionville. The person reported losing the phone while hunting in the Beaver Dam community.
