SAWMILLS — South Caldwell handled Watauga 54-12 in Northwestern 4-A Conference wrestling Friday night.

Watauga (7-16, 2-3 NWC) got victories from Jason Wood, Jacob Earp, Savva Kostis and Justin Hyatt. Wood, at 125-pounds, won his match 5-3.

Earp followed at 140 pounds by edging Chris Townsend 4-3. Kostis beat Dustin Potter at 152 pounds and Justin Hyatt beat Jesse Nelson 6-5 at 160 pounds.

South Caldwell got pinfall victories from Richie Watson, Jon Hartley, Austin Fanis and Corey Martin.


Tommy Huskey, Michael Chatman, Chris Kirby and Scott Harmon won either by decision or with a forfeit.


South Caldwell coach Billy Miller also earned his 100th victory.

Watauga closes out its regular season Tuesday at home against Freedom.
