Jan. 6
Derek Allyn Cheesman, 32, of 207 E. Springbrook Drive, Johnson City, Tenn., was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
David Dwayne Shell, 23, of 140 Russell Beach Road, Vilas, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Brian Keith Bentley, 21, of 2309 Central Drive, Lenoir, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court appearance on charges of driving while license revoked and misdemeanor larceny.
At the time of his arrest, he was also charged with driving while license revoked, providing fictitious information to an officer and resisting public officer. Bentley is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of three secured bonds in the amounts of $500, $1,500 and $1,000.
Breaking and entering was reported on the 200 block of David McLean Drive in Boone. The victim reported a suspect had used a pry tool to break the hinge off a lock on an out building.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Deck Hill Road in Boone. The victim reported the license tag stolen from a vehicle.
Jan. 7
Financial transaction card theft and fraud were reported by a resident on the 600 block of Castleford Road in Boone.The victim reported debit and credit card cards were stolen and used.
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 100 block of Stirrup Lane in Boone. A mailbox was hit with a baseball bat, causing $30 in damage.
Damage to property was reported at a work site on Rominger Road in Boone. A log loader was shot causing $300 in damage to a hydraulic line.
Jan. 8
Kevin Lee Hines, 47, address listed as homeless, was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 7 in lieu of a $300 secured bond.
Cody Michael Schumann, 17, of 3210 Kellersville Road in Banner Elk, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of larceny. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a $300 secured bond.
Servando Rodriguez Galvan, 18, of 144 Hensels Lane, Boone, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court appearance on charges of driving while license revoked and an equipment violation. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 7 in lieu of a $300 secured bond.
Jan. 9
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 8100 block of Old U.S. 421 in Zionville. The victim reported a Robo tiller, valued at $750, stolen.
Breaking and entering and damage to property were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Roberts Drive in Boone. The victim reported a screen door was cut and a door kicked open. The damage was estimated at $250.
Larceny and fraud were reported by a resident of the 200 block of Henderson Gap Road in Blowing Rock. A check in the amount of $544 was reported stolen.
Harassing phone calls were reported by a residence of the 3400 block of Hardin Road in Boone. The victim reported repeated hang-up calls.
