Police allege a Lenoir man is connected to a string of breaking and enterings Sunday night.
Jordan Thomas Coffey, 20, was caught in the act of breaking into Wheels, a car lot, on Morgantown Boulevard in Lenoir at 5 a.m. Monday.
Coffey was arrested by the Lenoir Police Department. Once in custody, officials say he confessed to a second Lenoir break-in at Bobby's Quick Stop near the Wheels car lot, as well as the breaking and entering of the Daniel Boone BP station on U.S. 321 South near the entrance to Tweetsie Railroad.
Coffey is alleged to have taken an undisclosed amount of cash from the Daniel Boone BP.
No details are available on the Lenoir breaking and enterings.
Capt. Dee Dee Rominger with the Watauga County Sheriff's Office is pursuing a warrant for Coffey in connection to the BP incident. Officials hope to condense charges and serve the warrant while Coffey remains in custody in Caldwell County.
Investigators with the Boone Police Department are also looking into Coffey's possible connection to another break-in within the town limits Sunday night.
Appalachian Oil Exchange was also broken into.
Capt.
William Greene of the Boone Police Department is investigating that incident. He said Coffey may or may not have been involved. More information will be available pending the outcome of the investigation.
While in custody, Coffey reportedly has also confessed to an October breaking and entering in Lenoir at the American Trade and Loan.
Thus far, Coffey has been charged with three counts of felony breaking and entering. He remains in the custody of the Lenoir Police Department in lieu of a $30,000 secured bond.
Coffey was scheduled to appear in District Court in Caldwell County on Tuesday for three previous felony breaking and entering charges.
