Dec. 20
Glen Douglas Brooks Jr., 23, of 12851 Boone Trail Road, Purlear, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, and an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date on a charge of possession of a schedule VI controlled substance. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 10 in lieu of a $3,750 secured bond.
Tobi Michelle Hughes, 35, of 2311 Volunteer Parkway, Bristol, Tenn., was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court in lieu of a $3,000 cash bond.
Dec. 21
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Dogskin Road in Vilas. Several tools with a total value of $660 were reported stolen.
Robin Irene Walker, 46, of 101 Rocky Meadows Trail, Blowing Rock, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Dec. 22
Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle was reported by a resident of the 100 block of Russell Beach Road in Vilas. The victim reported the suspect had borrowed a vehicle and not returned it.
Damage to property was reported by a resident on the 200 block of George Edmisten Road in Sugar Grove. The victim reported a mailbox post had been hit and broken, causing an estimated $35 in damage.
Damage to property was reported by a resident on the 1500 block of Old Watauga River Road in Sugar Grove. The victim reported a mailbox, with an estimated value of $30, had been hit and damaged.
Scottie Ray May, 26, of 579-2 Slabtown Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of obtaining property by false pretenses. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 22 in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.
Dec. 23
Obtaining property by false pretenses was reported on the 200 block of Holloway Mountain Road in Blowing Rock. The victim reported a suspect had taken a cab from Asheville to Foscoe and failed to pay the $227.50 fare.
Michael Stacy May, 29, of 930 Slabtown Road, Zionville, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of communicating threats. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 22 in lieu of a $500 unsecured bond.
Dec. 24
Larceny was reported at a business on the 3200 block of Shulls Mills Road in Blowing Rock. The victim reported nine assorted bottles of scotch and cognac, with a total value of $500, were taken from the bar area.
Damage to property was reported by a resident of the 200 block of Red Bank Road in Banner Elk. The victim reported both the front and rear windows of a 1998 passenger vehicle were broken by bricks. The damage was estimated to be $950.
Larceny and breaking into a coin machine were reported at a business on Mystery Hill Lane in Blowing Rock. The suspects cut a metal bar and opened the machines with keys, removing approximately $60 in cash.
Terry Lynn Cox, 28, of 180 Meadowhill Drive Apt. 207, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 22 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Dec. 25
Damage to property and a domestic dispute were reported at a residence on the 100 block of The Glade Road in Boone. The suspect broke various items in the home during the dispute.
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Indian Spring Run in Boone. The suspect forcibly entered a window and removed a 50-inch plasma television, a 32-inch plasma television and an estimated 60 DVDs. The total value of items stolen is approximately $4,200.
Dec. 26
Fraud was reported by a resident of the 300 block of Wes Randall Road in Deep Gap. The victim reported receiving a check for double the amount necessary with the issuer requesting the difference be returned to them.
Trespassing and suspicious activity were reported at a residence on the 100 block of Casey’s Corner in Boone. A suspect entered the property and left a green substance across the fence.
Damage to property was reported at a business on the 600 block of George Wilson Road in Boone. The victim reported a truck had collided with a retaining wall causing $2,000 in damage.
Michael Len Plumadore, 35, of 302 West King St., Boone, was sered with a warrant for arrest as a fugitive from justice. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 22 in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
