Judge Kyle D. Austin presiding and Charlene Norris prosecuting on behalf of the state.
Jason Carl Buckner, 23, of 412 Chestnut Knob Trail, Blowing Rock pleaded guilty to simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. He was sentenced to 45 days in jail and one year supervised probation. Buckner was assessed a $100 fine and court costs, and ordered to obtain a substance abuse assessment. Charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana up to one half ounce.

An order for arrest was issued for Donald E. Caroli Jr., 45, of 113 N. Heyer Ave., Orlando, Fla. for failure to appear on a charge of driving while impaired. A secured $500 bond was set.

Marley R. Guerrero, 22, of 686 Old U.S. 421, Sugar Grove was found guilty of second degree trespassing. Guerrero was sentenced to 15 days in jail, suspended, one year supervised probation, and assessed a $100 fine and court costs.

Matthew Jaime Hawley, 27, of 197 Red Maple Road, Boone pleaded guilty to an inspection sticker and registration violations. He was assessed a $25 fine and court costs. Hawley also pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana up to one ounce. Sentencing was consolidated into 45 days in jail, suspended, and one year supervised probation. He was assessed a $100 fine and court costs, and ordered to obtain a substance assessment and comply with treatment.

An order for arrest was issued for Jesse James Parker, 25, of Rush Branch Road, Sugar Grove. A $600 cash bond was set.

Nicole Rene Runde, 24, of 147 Sarah Lane Apt. 2, Blowing Rock pleaded guilty to possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana up to one half ounce. A prayer for judgment continued was granted and Runde was assessed court costs.

An order for arrest was issued for Michael Wiley Schultz, 25, of 107 Mary Jean Lane Apt. A, Boone for failure to appear on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

A charge of possession of marijuana up to one half ounce was dismissed against Blake Peter Shepard, 19, of 9010 Brittington Court, Lewisville.

An order for arrest was issued for Dylan William Sides, 21, of 1004 Mabel School Road, Zionville for failure to appear on a charge of unsafe passing.

A charge of simple assault was dismissed against Eddie Paul Stansberry, 37, of 211 Clyde Winebarger Road, Boone due to successful mediation.

An order for arrest was issued for Tommy Ward, 47, of 138 Northside Drive, Sugar Grove. A secured $2,000 bond was set.

Timothy Brown, 36, of 135 Howes Lane, Mountain City, Tenn. pleaded guilty to shoplifting and possession of stolen goods. Brown was sentenced to 45 days, suspended and one year supervised probation.

A charge of assault on a female was dismissed against John Tyler Bernsee, 22, of 2001120 Bellvue Way, Tallahasse, Fla.

Garrett Charles Bowne, 19, of 260 N.W. 23rd Ave., Hickory pleaded guilty to driving after consuming alcohol while under 21. A prayer for judgment continued was granted and Bowne was sentenced to 24 hours community service and assessed court cost and community service fees. A charge of failure to stop at a steady red light was dismissed.

Ryan Michael Bunch, 21, of 1270 Chester Road, Winston Salem pleaded guilty to driving after consuming alcohol while under 21. A prayer for judgment continued was granted and Bunch was sentenced to 24 hours of community service.

An order for arrest was issued for Shonna Marie Jones, 34, of 471 W. King St. Apt. 4, Boone for failure to appear on a charge of driving while impaired. A $1,500 cash bond was set.

Joshua Milton Letsky, 22, of 8401 Quintrell Drive, Charlotte pleaded guilty to driving while impaired. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, suspended, 12 months unsupervised probation and 24 hours of community service. Letsky was assessed a $100 fine, court costs, and ordered to complete treatment. A charge of driving without two headlamps was dismissed.

An order for arrest was issued for Scotty W. Robbins, 36, of 833 Greenway Road, Boone for failure to appear on a charge of misdemeanor larceny. A $1,000 cash bond was set.

Tommy Allen Woody, 24, of 2920 Hanging Rock Road, Spruce Pine pleaded guilty to driving while license revoked. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail, active, 100 days in jail, suspended, and two years supervised probation.

Jimmy Collier, 43, of 302 W. King St., Boone pleaded guilty to a charge of intoxicated and disruptive. He was sentenced to 20 days in jail, credit for 11 days served, and two years unsupervised probation.

Bobby Gilbert Hicks, 26, of 769 Rominger Road, Banner Elk was found not guilty of assault and battery.

Bret Smith, 17, of 4884 Laurel Creek Road, Banner Elk was found not guilty of assault and battery.

Carolyn “Sassy” Smith, 39, of 4886 Laurel Creek Road, Banner Elk was found not guilty of assault and battery.

Ronald Steven Wyatt, 56, of 4884 Laurel Creek Road, Banner Elk was found not guilty of assault and battery.

Nickey Daron Begley, 19, of 769 Rominger Road, Banner Elk was found not guilty of assault and battery.
