Dec. 18
Damage to property was reported on the grounds of Valle Crucis Elementary School. A bus struck a Pontiac car, causing approximately $1,000 in damage.
Damage to property and breaking and entering were reported at a vacant residence on the 1800 block of Brownwood Road in Deep Gap. A suspect forced entry into the house and removed ceiling tiles, valued at $500.
Dec. 19
Larceny was reported at a residence on 4000 block of N.C. 105 South in Boone. A North Carolina license plate was removed from a vehicle.
Larceny of trees was reported at a wooded area off Silverstone Road in Boone. A suspect cut and removed an unknown quantity of trees from the property.
Cruelty to animals was reported at a residence on Rocky Road Extension in Banner Elk. The victim reported a neighbor had shot their dog with a handgun.
Larry Lynn Crawford, 46, of 163 Rockledge Knoll, Blowing Rock, was served with warrant for arrest for three charges of failure to work after having been paid. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Feb. 21 in lieu of a written promise bond.
Michael Alan Cooper Jr., 21, of 130 Sims Terrace, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Jan. 3 in lieu of a $750 secured bond.
Dec. 20
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 400 block of Dogwood Knoll in Boone. A white 2004 Chevrolet van sustained approximately $2,000 worth of damage. A suspect painted vulgarities onto the sides of the vehicle.
Damage to property was reported at a residence on the 500 block of Dogwood Knoll in Boone. Two vehicles, a 2005 Ford van and a 2003 Ford passenger car, were damaged by a suspect pouring paint onto the vehicles. The damage was estimated at a total of $4,000.
Larceny was reported at a residence on the 300 block of Tarleton Circle in Boone. Four pairs of shoes, with a total value of $455, were reported stolen from the front porch of the home.
Dec. 21
Larceny and breaking and entering were reported at a residence on the 9000 block of N.C. 194 in Todd. A suspect entered the residence and removed a laptop computer, two video game consoles and an estimated $300-400 in cash.
