Ryan Paul Glenny
Mr. Ryan Paul Glenny, 16, of Boone and formerly of West Palm Beach, Fla., ended his long battle with Ewing’s sarcoma early Friday morning, Dec. 21, 2007, in the arms of his mother, Patricia, and father, John, and in the presence of God.
Ryan lived his life with exuberance, wonder, excitement, love and compassion. He loved life in its fullest, whether it was the wind of a hurricane or the chill of a mountain creek or the dark and quiet of a late night drive or the cold on his face from a winter wind or a peaceful moment with a friend. He was always happy where he was and always brought happiness with him.
Ryan was born in West Palm Beach, Dec. 31, 1990, and lived in Lake Worth and Wellington (Florida) and eventually in Boone, N.C. He is preceded in heaven by his brother Sean Glenny.
His surviving brothers Brennan and Patrick, his aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends, will surely miss Ryan’s presence and love and his never ending joy for life and his beautiful smile and sense of humor.
There will be a service and Celebration of Ryan’s Life at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock, NC on Friday, Dec, 28, 2007, at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the organization below in Ryan’s name or in the name of some other child or young adult that has suffered from one of these cancers. Sarcomas are devastatingly painfully diseases which very often attack our children. Treatments are very, very invasive and painful as is the disease, but cures are not being found nearly as fast as they could be. Money will make a difference for some child in the future…maybe one you may know and love.
