Appalachian State’s allotment of tickets for the FCS national championship game are sold out.

According to the school’s athletic Web site, tickets sold out following the Mountaineers’ 55-35 win over Richmond Saturday. Yosef Club members, season ticket holders and students had top priorities to the tickets.

Mountaineer duo earns honor
Offensive guard Kerry Brown and safety Corey Lynch were named All-American by Walter Camp Football Association.

Brown (6-foot-6, 310) is the two-time Jacobs Blocking Award winner, which is given to the top lineman by the Southern Conference. He helps pave the way for an offense that is second in yards per game (483.5) and third in scoring (42.3 points per game) and third in rushing (282.4 yards per game).

Lynch intercepted his 24th career pass last week against Richmond. He is the Mountaineers’ first three-time All-American and is a candidate to win the Buck Buchanan Award, which is given to the top defensive player in the FCS.

Familiar look
Appalachian State opened its season with a 34-32 win over Michigan, which is known for its unique design on its helmet. Delaware has the same design on its helmet.

ESPN crew
The same announcing crew that worked the ASU-Richmond game, Sean McDonough (play-by-play), Chris Spielman (analysis) and Rob Stone (sideline reporter) will work the game Friday night.

Notes
The CAA has had three teams compete in the national championship games and are 3-2. Delaware is 17-9 against non-confernece foes in the playoffs. Appalachian State is 3-2 against Richmond and has won 11 straight playoff games. All but two — the two national championship games — have been played in Boone.

...The 55 points ASU scored is the Mountaineers’ highest point total in the playoffs since last year when they scored 49 against Youngstown State in the seimfinals.
