Watauga sheriff’s reports

Oct. 31
Andrew Grant Sheppard, 28, of 196 Oak St. Apt. 2, Boone, was served with a warrant for arrest for a charge of exceeding psuedoephedrine possession limits. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 21 in lieu of a $500 secured bond.

Jeffvory Adorphus Hughey, 27, of 14084 David Street, Huntersville was served with a warrant for charges of injury to real property, assault on a female, injury to personal property, cruelty to animals, violating condition of a release order, and served with a domestic violence protection order. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center on a 48 hour hold. Hughey is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 21.

Zachariah Neil Young, 17, of 3201 Silverstone Road, Zionville, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a designated court date on a charge of larceny. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 21 in lieu of a $500 unsecured bond.

Nov. 1
A resident of Poplar Grove Road reported damage to property. A suspect damaged a custom built mailbox valued at $50 with explosives.

Cinda Gay Galgano, 49, of 400 Locust St. Apt. 9, West Jefferson, was served with a warrant for arrest on charges of harassing phone calls, communicating threats and violating a domestic violence protective order. She was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center for a 48 hour hold. Galgano is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 21.

A resident of Homespun Hills Road in Boone reported damage to property. A suspect threw a beer bottle at a vehicle breaking the rear window.

Forcible breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a commercial building on Old U.S. 421 in Deep Gap. A supect broke into the building and removed multiple items with a total value of $7,798.

Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on Elk Creek Road in Deep Gap. A suspect entered the home and removed assorted collectible Hot Wheels cars valued at $2,300.

Lewis Baldwin Flynn IV, 22, of 1413 Winklers Creek Road, Boone, was arrested on-view for driving while impaired. He is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 6.

Nov. 2
Breaking and entering and larceny were reported at a residence on Quill Gorden Lane in Boone. A suspect broke into the home and took a two-way radio.

Larceny was reported at a residence on Flat Top Road in Blowing Rock. A suspect stole a trash can.

Damage to property was reported at a residence on George’s Gap Road in Vilas. A suspect backed over a well cover, damaging pipes.

Larceny by employee was reported by a company on Tynecastle Highway in Banner Elk. An employee accepted payment for a job belonging to the company.

Fraud was reported by a church organization on Jefferson Road in Boone. A suspect agreed to purchase a vehicle, then did not pay for the vehicle.

Norma Jean Shook, 47, of 214 Devil’s Den Road in Banner Elk, was served with an order for arrest for failure to appear at a scheduled court date. Shook is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 11 in lieu of a $300 paid bond.

Jennifer Proffitt, 31, of 6107 U.S. 321 North, Sugar Grove, was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of assault and battery. She is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 21.

Nov. 3
A civil dispute was reported at a business on U.S. 421 North in Vilas. A subject parked a vehicle on the property without permission.

A lost or stolen cell phone was reported by a resident of Grandin Road in Lenoir. The victim noticed the missing cell phone after leaving Tweestie Railroad in Blowing Rock.

A suspicious person was reported in the parking lot of a non-profit organization on Lonnie Carlton Road in Boone. The person was standing in the lot asking multiple questions.

Samuel Dewayne Click Jr., 25, of 605 Baker Street, Mountain City, Tenn., was served with a warrant for arrest on a charge of larceny of a motor vehicle. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in District Court on Dec. 6 in lieu of a $3,000 secured bond.


Nov. 4
Fraud was reported by a resident of N.C. 105 South in Boone. A suspect used the victim’s information and opened a credit account, charging $800 in merchandise.

Larceny was reported at a residence on Margo Road in Boone. Several items including two guitars, a computer and a Playstation were reported stolen.

Nov. 5
Johnathan Grant Stephens, 18, of 462 Oscar Road in Zionville, was served with a warrant as a fugitive from justice. Stephens has pending charges in Johnson County, Tenn. He was placed in the Watauga County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in district court on Dec. 6 in lieu of a $10,000 secured bond.
