Landry swims in Milligan’s first meet
ASBURY, Ky. — Rachel Landry became part of Milligan College history when she swam in the college’s first meet against Asbury College, Berea College and Campbellsville University. Milligan finished second to Asbury in both the men’s and women’s meets.

Landry swam for the Watauga Swim Team.

“I was very proud of the effort of all the swimmers and we are all looking forward to improving on our accomplishments,” Milligan coach Ron Goehring commented.

Landry was a member of the NAIA national qualifying 200-meter freestyle relay team with Mara Sacco, Anna Goss, and Darcee Kubisiak. The swimmers, who began practice in August, will compete at the NAIA National Championships in San Antonio, Texas in March 2008.

Milligan's next meet will be the Swanee Invitational at Swanee, Tenn. Nov. 2-3, 2007.

Mountaineers close out season
Appalachian State’s field hockey team will face its final regular-season, the Pacific Tigers, Tuesday in Berkley, Calif.

The Mountaineers are already out West preparing for the NorPac tournament. The game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. Pacific Time. The Tigers come into the match posting a 4-10 record, while the Mountaineers have a record of 3-15.

Pacific has played an extremely tough schedule throughout the 2007 season, as they have taken on such opponents as nationally ranked Indiana and Stanford.
