Lucia Pabich Lemm Anderson

Mrs. Lucia Lemm Anderson, 85, of 2205 Channel Way, N., Fort Myers, Fla. and Beech Mountain, N.C., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at her Beech Mountain residence.
She was born in Wattenscheidt, Germany. She married Horst Lemm and lived in Berlin, Germany until they immigrated to the United States in 1952 with their two daughters Margit and Renate. She had two more children Gale and Dennis and lived in Cleveland, Ohio where she was a full time mother and became fully immersed in becoming an American citizen. She traveled extensively and lived abroad for many years. While in Paris she attended the Sorbonne and became a gourmet cook. She enjoyed sharing her love of food with her family and friends. She also took art lessons and discovered another talent. We are fortunate to have many of her accomplished pieces in both oil and watercolors among the family, which we will cherish forever.
Lucia was remarried to James Anderson in her 50's and retired to N. Ft. Myers, Fla.
Mrs. Anderson was widowed after 10 years of marriage. The last 10 years she found a loving companion in Robert Long. They were very devoted to one another and together they enjoyed a full life. She was a loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her sister, Anni Lentschow and her husband, Heinz, of Berlin, Germany; her four children, Margit Denny and husband, William, of La Jolla, Calif., Renate Slifkin and husband, William, of Las Vegas, Nev., Gale Butler and husband, David, of Houston, Tex., and Dennis Lemm of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; and by her two step-children, Ray Anderson and wife, Sarah, and Susan Anderson and husband, Dale. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Jamie Christiano and wife, Rucsandra, and Alexander and Ella, Karin Lombardo and husband, Tony, and Brigitte and Bennett, Kelly Tillman, and husband David, and Rachel, Steven Christiano and wife, Heather, and Nicolas and Giada, Jill Freeman, Brian and Ashley Butler, Peter, Lynne, and Heather Anderson and Danny and Anna.
A celebration of her life will be held on Nov. 10, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at her home, 2205 Channel Way, No., Ft. Myers, Fla.

Robert Miller
Mr. Robert Miller, 56, of Boone, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2007, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
He was born March 8, 1951, in Watauga County, a son of Ralph Miller and Joyce Lewis Miller.
Mr. Miller was a carpenter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two sons, Bob Miller of Boone, and Robin Miller of The Dowls, Ore.; two brothers, Wayne Miller and wife, Wendy, and Danny Miller, all of Boone. He is also survived by six grandchildren.
Services were conducted Thursday evening, Oct. 25, 2007, at 8 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating was the Rev. Arville Hardy. Graveside service and burial were conducted Friday morning at Skyland Cemetery.

Warren R. Tait
Mr. Warren R. Tait, 86, of Wilson, N.C., died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2007.
He was a retired professor at Barton College in Wilson. Mr. Warren was an active member for 50 years with the Wilson Lions Club. He was a past president and served as secretary-treasurer for 32 years. Awards bestowed upon him were N.C. Lions Foundation’s Jack Stickley Fellowship, Lions International President’s Certificate of Appreciation and a Melvin Jones Fellow (highest award in Lionism).
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Smith Tait; daughter, Diane Tait of Beech Mountain and Raleigh (also a Lion); son, Dennis Tait of Lake Waccamaw; grandchildren, Ed Tait, Julie Braswell, Shauna Schmidt, Erin Broush and Susan Williams; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church in Wilson. Following the service was a time of sharing and fellowship.
Memorial remembrances are suggested to the N.C. Lions Foundation, PO Box 39, Sherrills Ford, N.C. 28673.

Earl Watson
Mr. Earl Watson, 49, of 2644 Rominger Road, the Matney Community, Banner Elk, died Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2007, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 11, 1958 in Reidsville, Ga., a son of Rev. Everette and Venice Ray Watson.
Mr. Watson was employed by Bucks Communications, and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Watson is survived by his wife, Diane Presnell Watson; one daughter, Stephanie Watson of Banner Elk; three sons, Josh Watson, Derrick Michael, and Dustin Michael and wife, Yvette, all of Banner Elk; two granddaughters, Ayla Perry, and Patience Michael, both of Banner Elk; two grandsons, Ethen Perry, and Isaiah Watson, both of Banner Elk; one sister, Lelia Ellison and husband, Kelly, of Todd; and one brother, Vonley Watson of Banner Elk. He is also survived by three nephews.
Services will be conducted Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2007, at 11 a.m., at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 10:00 until 11 a.m. Officiating will be the Rev. Harvey Presnell. Burial will follow in the Watson Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m., at Hampton Funeral Service.

Linda Robbins Greene

Mrs. Linda Robbins Greene, 58, of Buffalo Cove Rd, Lenoir, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007 at her residence.
She was born in Caldwell County to the late Clyde Robbins and Carmell Church Robbins of Lenoir.
Mrs. Greene was a Certified Nursing Assistant and a member of Rock View Baptist Church where she was the piano player.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Rev. Bobby Greene; her daughters, Mrs. Gary “Victoria” Miller, Jr. of Lenoir and Mrs. Rick “Casandra” Brewer of Deep Gap; a brother, Paul Robbins of Lenoir. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Brooklyn Dawn Miller, Daryan Nikole Miller, Jordan Taylor Morrow and Stephen Chase Miller.
The family received friends Tuesday, October 23, 2007 from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with the Rev. Lane Hamby and the Rev. J. R. Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in Robbins Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Rex Greene, Rick Brewer, Gary Miller Jr., Travis Morrow, Tim Miller and Ottis Greene.

Joyce Robin Rominger
Miss Joyce Robin Rominger, 50, of US Highway 321 North, Sugar Grove, died Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2007 at Watauga Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 27, 1957 in New York, a daughter of Spencer Edward and Helen Ferons Rominger.
Miss Rominger was of the Baptist faith and was employed as a seamstress for Shadowline for 27 years.
Surviving is one brother, Richard Blaine Rominger of Sugar Grove.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Melissa Frances Rominger; and one brother, Wayne Edward Rominger.
A celebration of life service will be conducted Wednesday evening at 6 o’clock at the Austin & Barnes Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by the Rev. Quincy Norris. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Austin & Barnes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Rominger family in care of Austin & Barnes.

Ernest Seats
Mr. Ernest Seats, 93, of 620 Seats Road, Todd, died Sunday evening, Oct. 21, 2007, at Watauga Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 22, 1914 in Watauga County, a son of the late Roby Wilburn and Barbara Moretz Seats.
Mr. Seats was a retired farmer and a member of South Fork Baptist Church.
Survivors include five sons, Lewis Seats of Todd, John Seats and wife, Pauline, and Edward Seats and wife, Linda, all of Zionville, Bobby Seats and wife, Linda, of Todd, and Tommy Seats and wife, Sue, of Saolkville, Wisc.; three daughters, Norene McGuire of North Wilkesboro, Mary Parsons and husband, Mike, of Indian Trail, and Lola Churchwell and husband, W.C., of Eatonton, Ga.; two brothers, Edgar Seats of Todd, and Reverend Eugene "Bob" Seats of Granite Falls; one sister, Grace Wagoner of Todd; and one sister-in-law, Ruth Seats of Todd. He is also survived by 21grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Minnie Stephens Seats; five sisters, Anna Lee Parsons, Nellie Gibson, Hazel Holman, Edna Greene, and Lola Parsons; two brothers, Conley Seats, and an infant brother; two sisters-in-law; and five brothers-in-law.
Services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, Oct. 25, 2007, at 2:00 o'clock, at South Fork Baptist Church in Todd. The body will lie in state, at the church, from 12:30 until 2:00 o'clock. Officiating will be the Rev. Herbert McCoy, the Rev. Glenn Murphy, and the Rev. Eugene "Bob" Seats. Burial will follow in the Norris/Tabernacle Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday afternoon from 12:30 until 2:00 o'clock, at the church, prior to the service.

Janet W. Bloodgood

Dr. Janet W. Bloodgood, 61, of 1656 Silverstone Road, Zionville, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at her residence.
She was born April 21, 1946 in Otsego County, New York, a daughter of the late George and Geraldine Howe Williams.
Dr. Bloodgood was an associate professor in the department of language, reading and exceptionalities in the Reich College of Education at Appalachian State University. She received her bachelor’s degree at Suny-Binghamton University in New York then her master’s degree at Brown University in Rhode Island. She later received her doctorate degree from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. Dr. Bloodgood was a loving mother, devoted teacher, and a nationally recognized scholar in the field of reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Beth Bloodgood Ames and husband, Jonathan, of Montreal, Canada, and Elena Bloodgood Grandy and husband, Nick, of Franklin, Tenn.; three sisters, Susan Williams of Niskayuna, New York, Sandra Hillis of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Deborah Kapushinski of New Britain, Connecticut; two brothers, Robert Williams of Westford, New York, and William Williams of Stevens, Pa.; one grandson, Thomas Ames, and one granddaughter, Julia Ames, both of Montreal, Canada, and her grand puppy, Porter.
A memorial service for Dr. Janet W. Bloodgood will be conducted Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2007, at 5:15, at Edwin Duncan Hall, Room 03, on the campus of Appalachian State University. A reception will follow the memorial service.

Kathryn Alice Barger Coffey
Mrs. Kathryn Alice Barger Coffey, 95, of 163 Shadowline Drive, Boone, died Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at her residence.
She was born July 15, 1912 in Catawba County, a daughter of the late George Thomas and Alice Leona Spencer Barger.
Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Boone.
Survivors include four daughters, Jean Hart and husband, Jake, of Arlington, Texas, Carol Jarvis of Fort Mill, S.C., Phyllis Carson and husband, Doug, of Boone, and Kathy Randolph and husband, Larry, of Kilgore, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R. Frank Coffey; her father and mother, George Thomas and Alice Leona Spencer Barger; one sister and four brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday morning, Oct. 23, 2007, at 11:00 o'clock, at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Tim Smith and Vicar Dave Wegner. Entombment will be in the Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends following the service at Grace Lutheran Church.

Martha Shore Donaldson
Mrs. Martha Shore Donaldson, 62, of Wilmington, and a former resident of Boone, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, in Wilmington.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Donaldson; two sons, Voit Donaldson and Cyrus Donaldson and wife, Renae, of Wilmington; two grandsons, Trevor and Brandon Donaldson of Wilmington. Locally she is survived by one brother, Joe Shore and wife, Katie, of Boone; and one sister, Mary Hagaman and husband, Cecil, of Zionville; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, V. C. and Helen Maltba Shore; one brother, Claude Shore; one sister, Vickie Baker; and one sister-in-law, Eva Lee Shore.
Services were conducted Saturday morning at 11 o’clock at Carolina Beach Presbyterian Church.

Mary Louise Stine Moser
Mrs. Mary Louise Stine Moser, 90, of Clemson, S.C., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2007, at Clemson Downs Health Care Center in Clemson, S.C. She was formerly of Hickory and Blowing Rock, N.C. and was the widow of Delmar C. Moser.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Bennett and husband, George, of Clemson, S.C.; son-in-law, Vernie Deal of Hickory, N.C.; grandchildren Jeff Bennett and wife, Jodi, of Clemson, Bonnie Dixon and husband, David, of Greenville, and Ashley Fenton and husband, Rick, of Pineville, N.C.; 10 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Colleen Kieronski and husband, John, of Charlotte, N.C. and Betty Jo Pierce and husband, Mickey, of Hickory, N.C.; and a twin brother, Leroy Stine, who resides at the Cambridge House in Hickory, N.C.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Moser Deal, and a grandson, David Deal of Hickory, N.C.
Graveside services were conducted Monday morning, Oct. 22, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Catawba Memorial Park in Hickory, N.C. Memorials may be made to Clemson Downs Volunteers, 500 Downs Loop, Clemson, S.C. 29631 or to the Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1218 Main St., Blowing Rock, N.C. 28605.
A memorial visitation will be held at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church in Blowing Rock, N.C. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 1 p.m. A memorial visitation will also be held at the Clemson Downs at a later date.

Robert L. White
Mr. Robert L. White, 96, of 700 South Holden Road, Greensboro, the Masonic and Eastern Star Home, a former resident of Boone, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 17, 2007, in Greensboro.
He was born Dec. 31, 1910 in Washington County, Pa., a son of the late Phillip and Leona Risher White.
Mr. White was retired from Appalachian State University, where he worked in the laundry, and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was a Shriner and Mason for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife, Lessie G. White; one son, Richard D. White and wife, Susan, of Boliva, N.C.; one grandson, Travis Wesley White and wife, Debbie, of Winnabow, N.C.; one granddaughter, Shannon White Snuggs and husband, Chris, of North Wilkesboro; one daughter-in-law, Nadine White of Boone; two step-granddaughters, Monica Hampton Allsbrook and husband, Richard, of Greenville, N.C., and Vonda Hampton and husband, Kevin McCusker, of Herndon, Va.; one great-grandson, Zack Rogers of Winnabow; four step great-grandchildren, Chris and Eric Snuggs of Wilkesboro, and Julia and Jackson Allsbrook of Greenville, and one brother, William White of Pennsylvania..
He was preceded in death by a son, Roddy White; his father and mother, Phillip and Leona Risher White; two sisters, Phyllis Redinger, and Betty Batterton, and one brother, Norman White.
Services were conducted Saturday morning, Oct. 20, 2007, at 11:00 o'clock, at Grace Lutheran Church. Officiating was Pastor Tim Smith and Vicar Dave Wegner. Masonic graveside rites and burial followed in Mount Lawn Memorial Park and Gardens.
