Eighteen arrested in undercover drug bust by Boone Police

A large scale undercover operation has nabbed 18 King Street suspected drug dealers.
The operation took three months and the Boone narcotics unit received assistance from the Ashe County Sheriff's Office, Caldwell County Sheriff's Office, North Wilkesboro Police Department and the Watauga County Sheriff's Office.
The operation culminated in 79 charges against 18 defendants on Thursday, Sept. 20.
All of the defendants are charged with at least one count of sale and delivery of controlled susbtances.
During the operations, undercover narcotics officers purchased marjiuana, crack cocaine, powdered cocaine, LSD, alphazolam, psilocybin mushrooms, adderall, clonazepam and xanax.
Eighteen Boone Police officers, assisted by the Watauga County Sheriff's Office, met at 6 a.m. Thursday for a briefing before splitting into three teams to locate and arrest the suspects.
All of those arrested either live on King Street or sold drugs primarily on or around King Street, according to the Boone Police Department.
Those arrested in the sweep include:

Allen |
Denise Champion Allen, 40, of 311 Ridgewood Drive, Boone was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule IV controlled susbtance, clonazepam, and two counts of the sale and delivery of clonazepam.
Allen is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13, and a $10,000 bond has been set.

Arnold |
Sean J. Arnold, 33, of 243 Bamboo Road, Boone, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marjiuana and one count of the sale and delivery of marijuana.
Arnold is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13, and a $6,000 bond has been set.

Clawson |
Adam Whitely Clawson, 19, no permanent address, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana and two counts of the sale and delivery of marijuana.
Clawson is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and an $8,000 bond has been set.

Davis |
Jacob Landis Davis, 21, of 385 Dogwood Road, Boone was charged with two counts of conspiracy to sell a schedule II controlled substance, cocaine, two counts possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, two counts of the sale and delivery of cocaine, one count maintaining a vehicle for purposes related to a controlled substance and possession of a stolen firearm.
Davis is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13, and a $20,000 bond has been set.

Dehaven |
Shaun Charles Dehaven, 30, of 218 Spruce St., Boone was charged with one count of conspiracy to sell a schedule II controlled substance, cocaine, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, one count of the sale and delivery of cocaine and maintaining a vehicle for purposes related to a controlled substance.
Dehaven is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $30,000 bond was set.

Goss |
Ricky Lee Goss, 23, of 492 West King St., Boone, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, aprazolam, one count of the sale and delivery of aprazolam, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marjiuana, and one count of the sale and delivery of marjiuana.
Goss is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $12,000 bond was set.

Hammonds |
David Lane Hammonds, 39, of 1774 U.S. 421 West, Boone, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marjiuana and one count of the sale and delivery of marjiuana, two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule IV controlled substance, xanax, and two counts of the sale and delivery of xanax.
Hammonds is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $20,000 bond has been set.

Houk |
Larry Joseph Houk, 29, of 5946 U.S. 421, Vilas, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver marjiuana, two counts of the sale and delivery of marjiuana, one count of maintaining a dwelling for purposes related to a controlled susbtance, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver LSD, one count of the sale and delivery of LSD, one count of conspiracy to sell cocaine, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule I controlled substance, psilocybin mushrooms, one count of the sale and delivery of psilocybin mushrooms, one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, adderall, and one count of the sale and delivery of adderall.
Houk is scheduled to appear is district court on Nov. 13 and a $50,000 bond was set.

Lucas |
Zachary Lucas, 22, of 693 Howard St., Boone, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, cocaine, two counts of the sale and delivery of cocaine, and one count of maintaining a dwelling for purposes relating to a controlled substance.
Lucas is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13 and a $15,000 bond has been set.

Main |
Johnny Randall Main, 36, of 302 West King St., Boone, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule I controlled substance, MDMA (street name ecstasy), and one count of the sale and delivery of MDMA.
Main is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $6,000 bond has been set.

Rose |
Matthew Scott Rose, 28, of Swamp Box Road, Boone, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana, and two counts of the sale and delivery of marjiuana.
Rose is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $15,000 bond has been set.

Ross |
Sean Ross, 30, of 102 Scottish Inn, Boone, was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, dilaudid, and one count of the sale and delivery of dilaudid.
Ross is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $6,000 bond was set.

Setters |
Stuart Malcolm Setters, 47, of 1774 U.S. 421 West, Boone, was charged with one count of possession with intent to sell/deliver marjiuana, and one count of the sale and delivery of marijuana.
Setters is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $12,000 bond was set.

Whittington |
Thomas Sheldon Whittington, 29, of 309 Junaluska Road, Boone, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, crack cocaine, and two counts of the sale and delivery of crack cocaine.
Whittington is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and no bond has been set.

Young |
Caleb Austin Young, 19, of 367 N.C. 105 Bypass, Boone, was charged with possession with intent to sell/deliver cocaine, one count of the sale and delivery of cocaine, one count of conspiracy to sell cocaine, and maintaining a vehicle for purposes related to cocaine.
Young is scheduled to appear in district court on Nov. 13 and a $7,000 bond has been set.
At the time of the arrests, four of the suspects were charged with seven additional offenses, including possession of marijuana, trafficking in opium and possession of paraphernalia.
Officers of the Boone Police Department are still actively seeking three other suspects in connection with this undercover sweep of King Street.
