Pioneers drop two over weekend
Watauga’s girls’ tennis team beat Ashe County 5-4 Monday afternoon at the Carroll Complex. Shannon Herndon won her individual match at No. 1 singles, while Mary Clements won at No. 3 and Tatum Rees won at No. 4. Read more.

Errors costly to ASU
CHARLOTTE — Thirty-eight service errors in two matches were too much for Appalachian State volleyball to overcome, as it fell to Eastern Michigan, 3-0 (30-25, 30-24, 30-25), and host Charlotte, 3-2 (26-30, 30-25, 30-15, 21-30, 15-6), on day two of the Comfort Suites Charlotte Invitational at Halton Arena.
