Jacob Earp’s showdown
Success came quickly to Jacob Earp. His star was shining. Countless hours of hard work and practice were paying off. As he looked in his rear view mirror, Earp saw a road covered in titles, awards and honors. As the wrestler gazed upon the road ahead, visions of college scholarships and international acclaim seemed just beyond the horizon. Former Pioneer leads War Eagles
in win over WHS
The best way for Watauga to beat Davie County in the season-opening football game for both teams Friday night at Jack Groce Stadium was to be a bunch of ballhogs. Just keep the ball for as long as possible, score some touchdowns, and keep the War Eagles’ explosive offense on the sideline as much as possible. It worked for a half.
