Clark leads WST in June meet
ABINGDON, Va. — Watauga Swim Team’s Emma Clark was awarded fourth place in highest overall points in her age group during a meet held June 22-24.

Jeffries earns honor
Former Appalachian State All-American defensive end Josh Jeffries was named the Arena Football League’s Ironman of the Week for his performance in the Los Angeles Avengers’ 64-42 victory over the Utah Blaze in the wild-card round of the 2007 AFL Playoffs late Monday night at the Staples Center. All-Star tournaments heat up this weekend
Watauga’s Little League baseball and soccer teams have had a week to rest. That rest ends Saturday when svereal of them go back to the diamond. Read more.

Two App Angels named All-tournament
MORGANTON — Catcher Bailey Hagaman and pitcher Madison Bakken were named to the all-tournament team at the NSA 16U Girls Fast pitch Summer College Showcase played in Morganton last weekend.

Margolis blast powers American
SHERRILLS FORD — Ben Margolis led the Watauga American League 11/12 year all-star team to a 5-3 victory over Sherrills Ford in the opening round of the 2007 Little League District 7 tournament Saturday at Sherrills Ford Optimist Field.
