Rubinstein named to Collegiate Baseball squad
TUCSON, Ariz. — Appalachian State sophomore David Rubinstein became the school’s first baseball all-American in 19 years when he collected third-team Louisville Slugger all-America accolades on Wednesday. Appalachian award cups runneth over
HILTON HEAD, S.C. — For the eighth time in school and conference history and the second-consecutive year, Appalachian State is the winner of both the Southern Conference’s Commissioner’s and Germann cups, presented annually to the league’s top all-around men’s and women’s all-sports programs.

HILTON HEAD, S.C. — For the third-straight year, an Appalachian State student-athlete earned the Southern Conference’s highest individual honor for a male, when football’s Marques Murrell was named the SoCon’s Bob Waters Male Athlete of the Year on Wednesday night at the conference’s annual Honors Dinner. GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Appalachian State sophomore Charles Derrickson advanced to the NCAA Championships after placing third in the finals of the 110 meter hurdles, Saturday at the NCAA Track and Field East Regional at the University of Florida. Read more.

Little League’s Stars of the Week
Ben Margolis of Mountaineer Ruritan was named Boone Little League Star of the Week for the week ending May 27. Against Civitan, Margolis collected three hits including a single, double and triple. In addition, he pitched three strong innings of relief in the close loss. Read more.
