Pioneers roll over Reynolds
Four Pioneers scored in double figures to lead the Watauga boys basketball team to a 77-69 victory over visiting A.C. Reynolds Friday night at Lentz-Eggers Gym. Moore led Watauga (9-5, 3-1) with 20 points while J.R. Archer and Zach Greene added 19. Mitchell Harris had 12 points, eight of them coming in the fourth quarter. Read More

ASU women fall to Lady Mocs
Appalachian State University women’s basketball cut a 20-point first half Chattanooga lead to four late in the second half, but it wasn’t enough as the Mountaineers fell to the Lady Mocs, 84-74, in Southern Conference play Saturday at the Holmes Center. Appalachian fell to 8-7 overall and 2-2 in league play with the loss. Chattanooga, which had its 33-game SoCon regular season winning streak snapped Tuesday, improved to 10-5 on the season and 3-1 in the league. The Mountaineers have now lost 17-straight games to the Lady Mocs as their last win in the series came during the 1998-99 season.
