ASU to play 4 ACC teams
Appalachian State was added to the Bracket Busters event for the 2006-07 season. The Mountaineers won’t know who they will play until a week before the game, which is slated for Feb. 17. Appalachian State will play on the road this season, but host the same team at the Holmes Center in the 2007-08 season.

Sports Hall enshrines members of state champs
Football can be an emotional game, particularly on the field.
Three of the newest members of the Watauga Sports Hall of Fame showed that it’s okay to be emotional off the field, even if it is 28 years later. Members of the 1978 state 3-A championship team, linebacker Danny Triplett, safety and kicker Jon Steinbrecher and assistant coach Steve Breitenstein were inducted into the Watauga hall last Friday at the Boone United Methodist Church.
