Former ASU TE to visit troops abroad
Former Appalachian State tight end Daniel Wilcox will embark on a 12-day tour of Afghanistan and Iraq, where he and two other NFL players will visit members of the U.S. Military, the Baltimore Ravens’ Web site reported.

Chris Harkey wins his sixth Blood, Sweat & Gears
VALLE CRUCIS — For five years, Chris Harkey dominated the Blood, Sweat and Gears Bike Ride, winning each time he entered the event. A three-year break from the ride didn’t keep him from winning the 2006 ride. Harkey crossed the finish line well in front of the 750 riders who took on the 102-mile course Saturday.
