A holiday memory: Miranda Owen joined hundreds of other Watauga County youngsters Sunday enjoying the Easter holiday. While many children attended sunrise and worship services, they also found time to enjoy a warm spring day that rivaled that of summer. Easter egg hunts were held and Easter baskets compared, as kids enjoyed what the day, and the Easter Bunny, brought.  Photo submitted

Sheriff’s reports

The following are reports from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office:

March 31 — Danielle Marie Shelton, 27, of 134 Stag Drive, Boone, was arrested and charged with possession of a schedule IV controlled substances and possessing and displaying a fictitious driver’s license. No bond was recorded and she was scheduled to appear in District Court April 20.
