Vilas woman wins $650,000 fuel spill lawsuit

A Vilas woman has won a lawsuit resulting from a fuel-tank spill in 2002.  On Monday, a jury awarded Kate H. Ellison $650,000 in damages caused by leaking underground fuel storage tanks at the B & B Minimart on U.S. 321 west of Boone. The leaks are alleged to have occurred around Jan. 5, 2002, when contamination showed up in surrounding homes and wells.
