One of the uglier losses last season was handed to Watauga’s football team when Hibriten walloped them 31-6 in Lenoir, but the Pioneers have a year of Snow under their belts and are looking for some payback tonight at Jack Groce Stadium at 7.

Watauga shuts out Freedom, 9-0
After opening with a sound victory over South Caldwell last Tuesday, the Watauga girls’ tennis team came into their match with Freedom with confidence and a sense that this could be a special year for them. They continued their hot streak Thursday night by sweeping every match for a 9-0 win over Freedom at the Carroll Complex.

‘We battled’: Watauga finds victory in the fourth
One down. Before the start of the season, Watauga football coach Adrian Snow said there were eight teams he wanted to get another whack at after going 2-8 last season in his first year with the team. Friday night, he got one of those games back with a 17-13 win over West Caldwell.
